Welcome to Posting and Toasting!

Hello children! Welcome to Posting and Toasting, your SB Nation home for New York Knicks fans. My name is Seth, and you may or may not know me from my blog, Your New York Knicks. From here on out, I'll be blogging in this location. Let me answer a few of the questions you might have. Press conference begins...NOW:

What's up with the name?
"Posting and Toasting" is a frequent rhyme of Walt "Clyde" Frazier, Knicks color commentator and overall spitter of hot fire. It also doubles as a neat pun, cause like "posting" is what I'm doing on this blog! Get it!?

Who the ass are you?
Well, like I said, I'm Seth. I've been a diehard Knicks fan my whole life, and I started blogging at Your NYK in October. I live in New Jersey and frequently attend Knick games at the Garden.

What kind of stuff goes on the site?
My posts usually fall into one of several categories. I'll provide you with examples from the old blog. Before every game I post two things, a Game Thread, and a goofier, newer feature, the Know the Opponent. Depending on the context of my game-viewing , I'll post Game Notes (usually for weekday games), or the slightly more half-assed Game Recaps (typically on weekends). On off days, I like to do a polar bear-laden link dump called Crumbs, and on Sundays I post some NBA Lookalikes. That's pretty much the way things will go around here.

Will there be boobies?
Um, well...I'll certainly try to include boobies whenever relevant. Kind of a strange question...

Why the move?
Pretty simple. SB Nation is just about the ballerest sports blog network out there, and the opportunity to write along side all of those guys in the sidebar on the right is an honor. Also, the network will hopefully attract some more readers and I might make a dollar or two off advertising. Finally, it's simply an easier format to use than Blogger, and I get my own logo and whatnot. Oh, and I'm still allowed to curse. Shit. Nutsack.

What can I do?
That's the other added bonus of Posting and Toasting. SB nation uses a sweet program called Scoop that allows users to set up accounts. To do that, simply go to Create Account on the top right and do the damn thing. I strongly encourage you to make an account, because it allows you to comment on posts and write your own diaries (right sidebar). My goal is to establish a badass community of readers, and eventually a slave army of zombie Knicks fans. Anyway, go make an account. All the kids are doing it.

Anyway, welcome to the site. Big thanks go to Tyler Bleszinski and Matt Bernhardt for helping me put the site together, and to Matthew Powell and Mike Prada for all their advice. Go create an account, and come help me make SB Nation's Knicks site the baddest one out there!

Congrats, homey.
Looks like I'm the first comment here in your new hizzouse. All the other fellas should be making their way over in no time.

Anyway, Congrats! Site looks pretty cool, seeing that I never have enough time to actually hook my own blog up, this diary section looks like a pretty sweet idea.

I'm still having trouble breathing after Tuesday.

what if you are a fan of a different team?
can one add derogatory comments about the knicks and laudatory ones about other teams, or will they be censored by the management?

for if you censor my commments about the 76ers, well wouldnt that be an indictment of the entire basketball profession? .... and if you indict the basketball profession, well wouldnt that be an indictment of our entire athletic focus? And if you criticize our sports focus wouldnt that be a criticism of our entire country and constitution? well. you can criticize my basketball team, but I am not going to sit here and let you malign the United States of America! Gentlemen!

..... can you name that scene?.... actor? fictional college? random thoughts from a random mind. best of luck with the blog. your team's going nowhere (nor is mine) so might as well have fun on the web. And happy birthday by the way. Vote early and often, for the other guys.

Welcome
The SB Nation brass was considering trading the two Matts for you and Howie, but we figured you'd throw in an unprotected first-round pick in the deal.

Zing!

Seriously, welcome aboard.  Glad to have you as an official colleague.

Go Knicks. Glad to see the orange and blue, the Knickerbockers, the badass team from the metropolis is now represented at SB.

So am I to understand...
That at this blog, we will not be wheeling and dealing, will also not be running and gunning, but that we indeed will be posting and toasting?

by Todd Lerner on Mar 9, 2007 4:53 PM EST   0 recs

Oh no.
There will be plenty of those things. Maybe even some resounding rebounding as well. Most of the time, however, we will, indeed, be posting, if not toasting also.
