ESPN report
This shit that Chad Ford (is white as fuck) just wrote up lists his top ten ballerz most likely to move before the trade deadline. David Lee is listed as #7 with the following reasoning:
"But to keep Lee, who becomes a restricted free agent next summer, the Knicks would have to pay a terrible price, considering that team president Donnie Walsh is trying to clear cap space for the summer of 2010. As the Knicks currently stand, if Walsh signs Lee to a big extension, any hope of having cap space to lure LeBron James goes out the window."
with some other shit, too.
Personally, I think David Lee is the only big man we currently have that I wouldn't peg an "alien" in that test they did at the beginning of Men In Black. Not sure what this means, but it's definitely something. I would like to hang on to him as long as possible no homo.
Thoughts? Concerns?

priority #1
is signing LeBron. if that means having to part with Lee, fine. if not, then even better for us.
we have to put everything in perspective. i’m ready to win and i’m sick of this losing bullshit. i don’t care what Donnie does – who they trade, who they sign or who they cut – i’m just tired of being embarassed to be a Knicks fan.

I see Lee
as a D’Center, though. He rips boards and can apparently shoot out to 20 feet. I figure if Lee plays 5, LeBron plays the 4, Chandler/Gallinari play the 3, and the guard spots eventually get decided (That shit is a straight-up mess, and I have the feeling the draft will play a role in the future of the Knicks’ guards), that team looks solid as shit. No, David Lee is not Amare Stoudemire and we’ll never have Steve Nash circa 2004-2007, but with LeBron, who the fuck needs them?
Just thinking out loud.

All this planning around LeBron freaks me out.
Why not develop the young talent we already have on the team? Maybe it’s shortsighted, but I’ll take developing Lee, Chandler, Robinson, etc. and drafting well over planning around a chance at LeBron. Massive free agent signings freak me out.
Posting and Toasting: Yes sir!
seriously
we need 2 still b competitive up until then cuz if not we spent 2 years of moving assets and picks just to watch lebron back in a cavs uni
i love lee but come on
dont over rate him. if him and lebron were on the same team, lebron would be a better center. he’s the same height, stronger, faster, and can jump higher, and has better defensive instincts.
and he CANT shoot from 20 feet out. Fucking Jamal Crawford can’t even shoot well from 20 feet out.
Don’t get me wrong he plays his heart out, and i respect the shit outta that…but he’s over rated, and WITH a jumpshot he would be Udonis Haslem circa 06 at best.
And besides…THE MORE WE SUCK THE BETTER THE DRAFT PICK WE GET….jus sayin’

I'm the
LAST person to overrate Lee (over the summer I recommended a trade for Raymond Felton). And if you’re making a comparison list of Strength, Quickness, Ups, Defensive skills, who the fuck DOESN’T the best player in the world beat? LeBron is an athletic freak.
The bottom line:
You surround LeBron James with players who do not need plays run for them to be effective (read: David Lee). You surround LeBron James with players who understand and parallel his desire to win (read: David Lee). Nobody on the current Knicks roster would mesh with LeBron better than David Lee. He’s a sub-par defender that often needs weakside help (read: Wilson Chandler and LeBron James), but he’s a smart, hungry player.
If you’re looking for a player who is taller, stronger, faster, can jump higher, and has better defensive skills than LeBron James, you should start your search on Moron Mountain. You heard of the Dream Team? Well we’re the scream team.

I was only saying
that Lebron is superior athletically the lee cuz u said to put Lee at center over Lebron, to illustrate that lee at center is basically a waste of lee, even in a D’antoni system.
I agree with the stuff you said right above this response of mine 100 percent.
but you don’t need Lee’s defense at Center anytime EVER if you plan to win or compete on a championship level, even with lebron james on your team. That’s all i was trying to say. Gimme a decent Defensive Center, Bron, Lee, a good percentage shootin 2, and a good PG (cough brandon jennings) and i’m a happy ass camper.
I Suppose i didn’t illustrate my point on the first reply i did, hope this helps a bit.

Word.
I could see him working on his defense, he’s still real young and every year he seems to come back with advanced skills. He reminds me of a Tyler Hansbrough, though better equipped for the NBA. I just think if we’re trying to build a locker-room environment (something we don’t currently have), it should be around guys like Lee.
Also, Brandon Jennings is the truth. Rubio is fuego too.
