This is your spot for in-game comments. I'll be around for most of the game, so expect something resembling a recap later or tomorrow morning. Get them preseason W's!

First time poster, long time (about a year and a half I think) lurker.

Last year was my first year as a sports fan where I was torn on a nightly basis on whether I wanted my team to win more than I wanted Isiah out. Now that Isiah’s gone and a FO is at work in which I can place my hope, confidence, and trust, I’m psyched for a full season of being a balls-to-bones fan again.

GET THEM W’S!

p.s. I’ve been waiting with baited breath for weeks! Who is the #1 Duke of New York’s Scrubdowns?

by twincitiesknick on Oct 8, 2008 6:32 PM EDT reply actions

It's Jerome James.

I never got around to posting my write-up…and probably never will.

Anybody watching this little Jamal Crawford exposé right now?

by Seth on Oct 8, 2008 6:44 PM EDT up reply actions

which is sadder:

the fact that I can’t figure out how to watch tonight’s preseason basketball game, or the fact that I’m really disappointed about the fact that I can’t figure out how to watch tonight’s preseason basketball game.
discuss.

dude.

i know you’re far away, but you have to figure out how to watch. game threads need you. so do recaps.

by Seth on Oct 8, 2008 7:08 PM EDT up reply actions

i got about 20 days to figure it out.

i’m allowing myself not to freak out about not being able to watch preseason basketball. but if it’s regular season time, and i still haven’t figured out some freaky method of beaming msg onto my computer somehow, i’m liable to snap at literally any moment.

slingbox?

a worthwhile investment.

by Seth on Oct 8, 2008 8:10 PM EDT up reply actions

woah!

you don’t have to reload! that’s crazy.
i would’ve had to buy it a while ago.things i may do a) borrow my friend from high school’s sling box about every other night, which will probably get annoying by the end of the year or b) split nba league pass broadband with about five people, which apparantly they generally don’t catch you for.

Two Questions

1. How’s the squad lookin?

2. Does anybody know where I can get tv over the internet or access to MSG over the internet?

by gwl on Oct 8, 2008 7:38 PM EDT reply actions

i wish i knew.

this needs to be researched.

oh, and they’re looking nice. the ball’s definitely moving faster and the D is looking tight for now.

by Seth on Oct 8, 2008 7:42 PM EDT up reply actions

Nice- Anybody lightin it up? How’s Allan Houston looking?

by gwl on Oct 8, 2008 7:47 PM EDT reply actions

Houston's out.

Bruised quad. Randolph and Lee are showing some nice chemistry though.

by Seth on Oct 8, 2008 7:49 PM EDT up reply actions

Man, I didn’t know how much I’d missed hearing “mesmerizing” until just now. It’s good to have you back, Clyde.

Nate

Hey Seth, what’d you think of Nate and his role when you were at camp? I’ve read elsewhere that it might be hard for him to find minutes because of the bodies ahead of him, but tonight they’re making him sound like a sure thing.

by Martha on Oct 8, 2008 7:53 PM EDT reply actions

Nate

It looks like he might be getting some time at the 2 spot to make for minutes lost to Duhon and Marbury. They’ve had him playing alongside a 1 tonight, which, come to think of it, suits his game pretty well.

Looks like Chandler had a nice start

by gwl on Oct 8, 2008 8:13 PM EDT reply actions

yep

he’s looking active. he also assaulted jermaine o’neal’s face.

"all access from saratoga" at halftime

look for me! i’m pretty sure i was around while they fimed this stuff.

by Seth on Oct 8, 2008 8:13 PM EDT reply actions

I hope you weren’t at the team breakfast and hiding that detail from us.

by Martha on Oct 8, 2008 8:20 PM EDT up reply actions

nope.

i was hoping for this one thing they did where nate robinson was interviewing people. he literally threw wilson chandler into me and my cameraman.

by Seth on Oct 8, 2008 8:21 PM EDT up reply actions

Did he really? Somehow, that doesn’t surprise me. Did he even notice anyone else was there?

by Martha on Oct 8, 2008 8:32 PM EDT reply actions

well..

it’s hard to see all 5’10’’ of me behind wilson chandler, so i forgive him.

by Seth on Oct 8, 2008 8:33 PM EDT up reply actions

besides Curry

Z-Bo was the guy i was most worried about in D’Antoni’s up-tempo system, but it looks like he had a pretty nice game last night.

Ewing with the step...YES! and the foul!

by Anthony Masons Haircut on Oct 9, 2008 6:24 AM EDT reply actions

i was impressed

the only thing that stopped us from having a convincing win was 3pt shooting. if we made 15% of them we would have won the game.

zach still holds the ball too much, but you can tell he is trying not to. nate was the best player on the floor for us. the lineup that i thought looked the best was steph, nate, crawford, chandler and lee. they were on the court for about 30 seconds and they instantly had two stops and 6 points. duhon is the 4th best guard on the team. curry will be more effective than randolph if he had those minutes. randolph is sloppy. did i miss anything?

wilson made jermain o’neal feel old again. and nate caught one of what is sure to be many! things are looking up.

by stingy d on Oct 9, 2008 7:49 AM EDT reply actions

i think they need to cut their losses on Curry

though Randolph at times is just as frustrating to watch, he is far more talented.

Curry is virtually useless at this point.

Ewing with the step...YES! and the foul!

by Anthony Masons Haircut on Oct 9, 2008 5:15 PM EDT up reply actions

both of them knuckleheads

are infinitely better than jared jeffries

by stingy d on Oct 9, 2008 6:39 PM EDT up reply actions

duhon looked like

a backup point guard who was getting too many mins. i like the way he plays i really do i just dont feel he has the talent to do all those things he trys and to be getting significant playing time. steph looked sloppy as well but we have seen him play well so i put more trust into it. obviously we’re going off 1 game but for a move no1 was really crazy for it seemed alarming. i have no idea how they plan to include all these guys.

u gotta figure jamal nate lee zbo chandler Q duhon steph will b heavily apart of the rotation

but then theirs the rooster curry jeffries once he comes back.

i liked mardy in his rookie year but it looks like again he wont see the light of day. i like malik and is an effiecent player (chair pull last night even tho it wasnt spoken of, i believe it was on humphries) but doesnt work with this team. Houston may just b that 11th guy who kinda takes the malik role he had last year where he would go 9 straight games without playing but then if 1 guy was slacking off he’d jump in. Ewing jr may have a future but its not with a team who got rid of balkman who is basically ewing jr. with more expierence. Dan grunfeld looks like an angel. roberson…yea idk i guess its cool hes good at shooting but he’s not at anything else so no not happening.
