Knicks fans on Starbury Situation
personally I love the position the team is taking with Steph. If he refuses to take any kind of a paycut as well as refuse to to hire an agent and work on getting a deal out of new york - F him. He needs to play ball with Donnie Walsh before he can play ball with anyone else.
Look the team's clearly not going anywhere this season, so I'm not worried about this being a distraction (as if these players aren't used to playing with distractions) Let's at least stick it to one of the guys that helped ruin this franchise. Make him sit at home and collect his money if he's not going to take a cut, he can't have it both ways. you don't get paid to play for someone else's team.
But I feel like I'm the only guy that feels this way. I'd love to hear what other knicks fans think.

isn't everyone kind of sick of marbury at this point?
to me the guy is just despicable. there is something about millionaire athletes with bad attitudes that just really rubs me the wrong way. I wish there was some way to cut the dude and not pay him a red cent. Make him go to a soup kitchen just to feed himself. the dude needs a huge dose of enforced humility

Exactly what is happening.
He wont take any less than 21mil obviously. Who’s gonna blink first in this high stakes game of chicken? Starbury, or Walsh. My moneys on Walsh. if Marbury really cares about basketball and his career more than the money he’ll take a buyout of alot less and seek another team. The question is will another team take him? Probably, but will they pay him the difference? Pretty obvious he’s never gonna get a contract that good ever again.
I hate it
If you don’t want the guy pay him what is owed and let him go. A deal is deal. I know Marbury is not popular but the Knicks look like assholes IMO.
well
If you were going to tell him to wear a suit for the rest of the season because he is not apart of “future plans” (who really is at this point?) then why drag him through training camp and the preseason? His trade value isn’t going up during the offseason and the quality of a suit isn’t going to make his stock rise or fall.
Steph could have taken the high road here, but he is not the only one in the wrong.
You all did love him once. - The New York Knicks.
