The racist scare card...

Is it just me, or is anybody else getting the "the more you shout boo, no one will react"-feeling, reading this piece of "journalism" (euphemistic use, handle with care) by Scoop Jackson, ESPN:

Zeke and Bird: one class of losing

Star-divide

I guess jackson has some good insight, but the conclusions?
Hell, maybe I'm too naive for the US side of living, but come on. That's gotta be crap innit?
Bird getting less of a beating for the Pacers mishaps as Zeke for the Knicks?
Maybe, but isn't it rather for The Brawl (which Jackson briefly discusses, but then just dismisses) than the color of their skins?

Enlighten me please, fellow Posters and Toasters.

And a toast to you, Seth, for both the anniversaries ;)

at the very least
i think bird deserves some credit for being candid and relatively honest about his failures and such. isiah (and dolan is somewhat to blame for this) lies through his teeth.

Plus
Bird hired two great guys in his span as GM, Rick Carlisle and Jim O'Brien. Bird didn't get impatient when the team went 44-38 under Carlisle's watch during the year of the brawl, nor did he fire Carlisle after the team finished 41-41 in 05-06.

Isiah got rid of Wilkens after a 17-22 record in 04-05, right? A 40-41 record overall? All that team needed was a 2-3 game winning streak and they were back in the running. No idea what the hell that firing was all about.

I don't remember Larry Bird being involved in some sexual harassment law suit. Nor do I remember Bird ever denying how bad his team is when it gets BAD over there. I don't remember Bird barely making an effort to trade anyone come trading deadline time.

Scoop Jackson is comparing apples to oranges. And making very bad arguments to support his case.

Also
Isiah is coaching in New York City in the Garden and Bird is hidden away so to speak in Indy. The turd that Zeke is laying is the media capital of earth, of course it gets more attention.

Whitlock called Scoop a "clown"
When Jason Whitlock insults your writing, then you know something's wrong.

The crap that Scoop writes worked when he wrote for SLAM, the off-beat-ness just looks awkward on a website like ESPN's page2. And that says something.
