RECAP celtics 167 knicks 93

It was just one of those games.  I guess that's because it's just another one of those seasons.  The Knicks showed up today.  Which is better than what they have done the last 8 or 9 times these teams have played.  But still it wasn't nearly enough.  The celtics and their mildly horrendous bench players thrashed us when they expressed interest and kept us at arm's length the rest of the time.  It was ugly only because we are unable to accomplish what we set out to do - whereas the celtics beat us even before the game started just simply by being mentally tougher.  nate was a saving grace, and david lee played well.  but both of them were traded at half time and did not return.  stephon suited up but was nursing a sore left brain.

Once again Rondo annihilates our front line because he charges the rim uncontested and drops 56 on us, while missing a ghastly one shot all night.  He also dished for 18 assists and had 17 rebounds and 14 steals.  ray alien was a silent assassin making 5 of 6 from downtown and 8 of 11 for the night.  Garnett yelled at everyone in the Garden individually and they listened intently and then got quiet.  He finished the game with 12 points on 4 for 4 shooting with 8 rebounds and 4 assists in 7 minutes of court time.  paul peirce also had a nice game shooting 8 of 17 from the floor and 17 for 19 from the stripe.  he finished with 37.  kendrick perkins had his way with us.  eddie house jacked up a bunch of threes and rushed the ball past half court really quickly every time he had to bring the ball up.  tony allen was called for 8 palming violations and four traveling calls.  bib baby bavis ran around like a 2 year old and managed to get 8 points in three minutes of court action.  brian scalabrine.  leon powe stuck out his elbows.

as for the knickerbonkers.... goosedown managed to walk it up a bunch of times finishing with 6 points, 8 assists and 6 turnovers.  al harrington scored 26 points but took 42 shots.  jared jeffries missed an uncontested lay up and then fumbled the ball out of bounds on a wide open breakaway.  the only saving grace on that play being that it was on the wrong rim.  wilson chandler was clearly still suffering from that awful case of CFS.  he will be undergoing a barrage of testing from the medical staff before and following practice tomorrow, they think it's stage two.  but they are unclear if it's type A or type F.  as previously stated nate the great and david lee came out and led the charge for a bit.  but then at half time they did not come out of the locker room.  lee was sent to the magic for adonal foyle and brian cook plus a conditional second round pick.  foyle figures to the starting power forward right away with harrington taking over lee's spot at the pivot and jeffries moving down to shooting guard because of his versatility.  nate was also dealt, but to pheonix for steve kerr's toast's jelly.  at press time it appears that either richard dumas' or cedric ceballos' expired contract was also included in the deal.  the knicks were holding out for ceballos but accepted the trade before kerr decided that he wanted butter AND jelly.  needless to say it was over before the fat lady took the stage.  hopefully i can be proven wrong in the moments to come.
