Game Thread: Knicks vs. Sixers- 10/31/09

Philadelphia 76ers at New York Knicks, Oct 31, 2009 7:30 PM EDT

Galloween_medium Darkoween_medium

Happy Galloween/Darkoween, y'all! The Knicks are home for the first time tonight to take on the Sixers. New York's coming off a long, painful loss against Charlotte and always has trouble with Philly, so tonight should be interesting. Hopefully they can put on a good show for the home crowd, and maybe even pull off the unlikely win.

Stop on by if you're watching the game. Share your thoughts on the action, as well as your costume choice for tonight and who in your neighborhood has the best candy. Go Knicks.

For all things Philadelphonic, head over to Liberty Ballers.

I love how half the team got booed

Something tells me the home support won’t be very helpful this year.

every time they cut to dlee running down the court after a made basket, he has this “I Have to Take a Shit” look on his face…watch for it, maybe im just crazy

Starting Darko and Gallo

the Knicks could have an inside out game and be pretty awesome. Perhaps not awesome but definitely less terrible

We have a pulse!

I’m trying not to get my hopes up but this is a nice way to start

by Nolan B on Oct 31, 2009 7:53 PM EDT reply actions

FREE DARKO!

If our entire offense is about bricking 3’s why not at least keep them from getting free layups?

by Nolan B on Oct 31, 2009 7:57 PM EDT reply actions

hey

perfect pick and roll right there.

I will say

Hughes-Nate backcourt makes more sense than Mike D’s mancrush on the Nate-Duhon backcourt

yeah

i’ve heard good things about that toney douglas guy, too

FINALLY, nate

pump fake and penetrate. it works.

although, the way the knicks are shooting, i wouldn’t even bother to contest their threes.

According to today's Times

He was sitting in the wrong seat and, at the end of the first quarter, he just left instead of moving to the right seat.

Classic.

Yikes well this is not the score i was looking for when i got home, I’m not surprised but i was hopeful this game would go well. >.<

im only watching this game for gallo XD

by Bigmo5246 on Oct 31, 2009 9:16 PM EDT reply actions

hughes has his share of turnovers

but he’s making the pass that each play is designed to produce. neither du nor nate has done that consistently.

by Seth on Oct 31, 2009 9:23 PM EDT reply actions

you know?

using tonight as your sample size, that wouldn’t be too bad at all. extend your focus and i wouldn’t recommend it.

by Seth on Oct 31, 2009 9:26 PM EDT up reply actions

Darko

I’m not a big +/- guy, and I’m not watching the game, but is it a fluke that Darko has the only positive +/- or is his defense visibly effective?

by Theep on Oct 31, 2009 9:38 PM EDT reply actions

He didn’t have a great game, and he’s not getting any stats, but I think it’s more than a coincidence our defense always looks a bit better when he’s there

by Nolan B on Oct 31, 2009 9:40 PM EDT up reply actions

HUGHES

That was an awesome posession right there was it really the Knicks

by runningdonut on Oct 31, 2009 9:59 PM EDT reply actions

God damn.

Now if we can just get them to stop going down by 20 to start games, things might be looking up.

by Martha on Oct 31, 2009 10:11 PM EDT up reply actions

Gallo

needs to move without the ball.

by fuhry on Oct 31, 2009 10:06 PM EDT reply actions

Foul on the catch

We should still have 10 secs with the ball

by runningdonut on Oct 31, 2009 10:15 PM EDT reply actions

wow.

kapono doesn’t miss.

i’m terrified.

by Seth on Oct 31, 2009 10:16 PM EDT reply actions

GREAT MOVE duhon

i’m trying to go out though. WHY NO 3?

by Seth on Oct 31, 2009 10:18 PM EDT reply actions

I'll take it

Going for a 3 would have been the Knick thing to do but we got a wide open layup

by runningdonut on Oct 31, 2009 10:20 PM EDT up reply actions

I don't understand this team

But hey, at least it’s not the Bobcats!

by Nolan B on Oct 31, 2009 10:20 PM EDT reply actions

If this was soccer

The Sixers would throw the ball out of the bounds so Al could get treatment. It’s a classy sport.

by Martha on Oct 31, 2009 10:24 PM EDT reply actions

Gallo

is on pace for 492 threes this season.

by Theep on Oct 31, 2009 10:25 PM EDT reply actions

baaaahhhhh

this team is killing me. and it’s still october.

by Seth on Oct 31, 2009 10:29 PM EDT reply actions

Welp

Gallo still rules right

by runningdonut on Oct 31, 2009 10:31 PM EDT reply actions

Harrington is an NBA athlete

Duhon is all county cyo all star at best. Were not going to win games with the lineups were throwing out

by Weasie on Nov 1, 2009 10:49 AM EST via mobile reply actions

damn.

i can’t take this anymore.

by the way, my halloween costume was olden polynice’s 1999-2000 utah jazz warmups that i bought on ebay for 29 bucks. the real fun part about wearing nba player warmups is the ability to rip off the pants at strategic intervals throughout the night.
