No. Dear God, No. No!  NOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Brandon Jennings dropped 55 on the Warriors last night.  And the Bucks won the game.

I don't want to hear any explanations.  I understand the logic in picking Jordan Hill.  I'm starting to believe Jordan Hill will be a pretty good player.  I had a feeling during the draft that maybe they should have picked Jennings.  They didn't.  It's over.  I don't necessarily think it makes Walsh a bad GM, or that he should be fired for it.  7 other GM's passed on him.  It now appears that Jennings proper position in the draft was #2.  Or #1.  That may change.  But when have you ever heard of a rookie scoring 55 points in his eleventh game in the NBA?

So, I guess, there are no real comments I am looking to make, or receive.  I'm just going to cry.  Join me?

That's pretty sad...

Well..for us Knick fans it is. Good for Jennings and the Bucks and their fans and all a that shit…good for them they got a real nice player..

Ima still hold my head up…I agree with you on Jordan Hill.

…..I will say tho, 55 points is a lot. Even against the Warriors (that’s like 35 pits in real basketball…still a nice game!)

i'm a big jennings fan

so, naturally i wanted him on my team, and was mortified when we took mikki moore’s cousin instead. but hey, what can you do? it was amazing to see the closing minutes of that game. jennings is a monster. 29 points in the third quarter is insanity. i don’t care who he did it to, nobody could have stopped that guy. the celtics wouldn’t have been able to stop him. they would have put his ass on the floor, golden state ain’t about to do that.

but hey, whether it’ brandon jennings, or lebron james or fuckin….. zan tabak, i ain’t sweatin nobody else’s players.

Waking up a sleepy season

Haven’t liked a rook so much since AI. After the ‘55, went straight to youtube, typed in ’Brando-’ and right away Brandon Jennings autofilled. Not marlon brando, but the kid. Then I watched a couple mix tapes from his high school days. Goose bumps.

Haven’t been feeling this year as much as in the past, but this guy has me buzzing. Gonna sell alot of #3s. Thanks to him, people will learn how to spell Milwaukee.

This kid is the real deal!

I watched the Milwaukee game last night and this kid is a monster. This is the reason never to trade first round picks. You never know who is going to turn out to be a surprise. So far he his the Rookie of the Year. The Knicks were not the only team to miss on him. The Knicks did need a point guard and hitting a home run on the draft would have been critical to alluring James and all. It is hard to believe Walsh didn’t consider Jennings more seriously. Maybe Isiah gave Walsh the scouting report.

You do realize that the Knicks weren't the only ones who passed on this kid right?

While judging a draft in it’s rookie season is always going to be flawed, right now it looks like we made a big mistake not taking Jennings. The kid is single-handedly carrying Milwaukee.

That being said, he stunk it up in Italy and 9 players were taken before him, most of them guards. If you think Walsh made a mistake, what about Kahn, who took THREE point guards in the first round, one who whom so far has been less impressive and the others which will never play for their team.

This happens all the time. Kobe was taken 16. All I care about is if Hill can prove he has something to offer, Jennings could be the next great point guard but he’s not a Knick, so fuck him.

of course...

I think Jennings himself said he knows that him stinking it up in Italy, in the games, was the reason he fell so far.

I think all the threadstarter’s doing is saying how amazing this performance was…

I guess its just besides the point that many of us wanted Jennings and our PG stinks too.

it’s frustrating for sure because this team is hopeless with Duhon as the only real PG, but all this Jennings love is really unfair to Hill, who shouldn’t be written off even if there were better choices out there.

hindsight is always 20-20

Jennings is a stud. shit happens.

going into the Draft, there were tons of red flags with this kid. his workouts weren’t great, he wasn’t dominant overseas, and he had Chris Wasburn-like SAT scores which led to his failure to qualify to play college ball. there was some talk about him dropping all the way into the late teens had Milwaukee not scooped him up.

i give him credit for what he’s been able to do, but it’s not like the Knicks passed on Jordan for Bowie or something. an error in judgement? yes (along with eight other teams). an egregious error in judgement? no.

Ewing with the step...YES! and the foul!

I agree in general

But Michael Jordan didn’t drop no 55 in his 7th game in the NBA…. Not sayin, just sayin.

Even if we did have Jennings

He wouldn’t get any minutes, because “DUHON’S OUR POINT GUARD”

At least we don't have a #1 next year

So we can’t cry over another oops-like pick.

As bad as it is missing out with the #9 pick, think how bad it would be with the #1, 2, or 3.

by beelove on Nov 16, 2009 11:31 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

I guess so...

it would have sucked to get Hasheem Thabeet right now….

But next year, there’s not a Thabeet or even Blake Griffein in the top 3.

John Wall and Derek Favors are about as good a top 2 will ever get.

Jason Kidd/Derek Rose type in Wall, and Favors is kind of like Josh Smith.

You also got John Henson on UNC, who may be Jonathon Bender..may be KG?

Nah, I’d rather draft one of the top players in next years draft and have them bottom out with injuries than completely not have a pick.

Too much talent in this coming draft. Really sad the Knicks may get the top pick and not have it.

Ed Davis

People should not sleep on UNC’s sophmore Ed Davis.

I’m looking foward to seeing some of the fresh you mention, especially Wall.

Not bad to be the Utah Jazz — if only they had handled the boozer/milsap mess better, they’re looking to have a fine roster in 2010.

in 1996

it appeared that stephon marbury was one of the best players drafted.

It took a couple years before we see that kobe and nash were prob the best players in that awesome draft.

Not saying that Hill is gonna be the stud, but its early in the season, and you never know what will happen.

Although I do wish we had jennings right now.

My hunch is Hill is a Channing Frye type

Looking at his college highlights I see no explosion, no meanness. Nice touch, but makes move with finesse (best case) or hesitation (worst case).

And looking at his game by game stats, I don’t see dominance. I see consistency (relative to the college game). In looking at a prospect, I’d prefer less consistency but with signs of greatness against good teams. I see no signs fo greatness.

D’antoni needs forwards who, um, face foward, and I think Hill was picked for the System (Frye is actually a pretty good player in the same (gentrified) system.

But you’re right, it takes time before you know for sure.

i figure

DW and MD felt that jennings was to big a risk. With the team they have… they need players that have a more likely shot of being positive role players.

The idea is to get that stud #1 and a #2 during the 2010/2011 FA market. So the draft should be used to get guys to compliment those players. (unless someone fell into our lap… until pick 6 in the draft, it looked like everything was working out, and either curry or flynn would be a knick… but stupid Minn had to go mess that up).

I think Hill has a good shot at that. He has looks good on the court during his min, and i bet by the end of the season he is getting 15 – 20 min a game.
