Harrington Calls A Meeting

Not sure I approve. Harrington's trying to be a leader here, kind of like the teams best player, but is he the team's best player? That's not really clear. And he really wants to be a Knick and that's nice, but is he really going to be here next year? Not likely.
Apparently they say one unnamed Knick said other unnamed Knicks are disgruntled because they perceive the management as only caring about 2010 and not this year. I wonder who those unnamed Knicks are?
Anyway, it's a perfect storm of ugliness tonight. As a fan, I'm irritated by all this talk of the guy on the Cavs. As a player? I'd be irritated more. I think there will be some Knicks with chips on their shoulders tonight.
And after the loss to the Bulls, I think we will see some chips on the other side as well. Some of those chips weigh in excess of 300 pounds. Another chip has more talent than Al Harrington will ever have.
The Knicks could lose by 50. Or more. To win, I think Gallo will have to have a monster game, and TD and Darko get some PT and will have to D it up like crazy.
My prediction? Harrington is ejected in the first quarter after laying a flagrant one on Le- a certain Cavalier. TD has 5 steals, Darko blocks Shaq once and Z twice, and Gallo is 10-13 from three, 21-27 overall, and scores 57, but has his last second 3 attempt for the win blocked by Le- some 6'8" guy who's due to be a free agent.

Additional anonymous quote from the Daily News
“A few players have said that they have been so soured by their experience in New York that if James were to solicit their advice about playing for the Knicks, they would not give him a favorable scouting report.”
Hmmmm. Larry Hughes? I don’t see Voldemort plausibly asking Darko for advice, draft classmates or no.

Interesting
Hughes is always a possibility for disgruntlement. It’s probably not any of the players that arrived this year. Who’s left – Duhon, Lee, Nate, Harrington, Jeffries, and Chandler.
Nate and Harrington both expressed big time desires to be Knicks this offseason.
Jeffries… maybe. I just don’t see him being disgruntled.
That leaves Duhon, Lee and Chandler. It’s believeable, I guess. Duhon and Chandler don’t seem particularly inspired thus far this year. Though, do they ever? I don’t think Chandler liked being put at the 2. And Duhon said all the right things but the team brought in like 10 different point guards to work out this summer. I can understand Lee having a bad taste in his mouth. But I think he’s been playing pretty well thus far.
i tried to joke with larry hughes at training camp
he was wearing a yankees cap and i asked him if he was wearing it to signify that he intended to sign with the knicks in 2010. he picked up on the reference pretty quickly and was not amused in the slightest.

The team is just flat right now. We lost to the Bobcats 102-100 in a double overtime game. The Knicks can’t beat the worst teams in the league in a half-court game. We need to be running to win, hell just to even be in the game. D’antoni looks he’s mentally checked out already or he just hasn’t been able to put out some lineups who play with energy, it’s affected the team. At least someone is trying to get them fired up.
AL isn’t that good or smart of a player though. He’s kind of a chucker and completely melts down in clutch situations. I hope the team wouldn’t re-sign him and realize that with better scorers and the development of Gallo and Willie C, there won;t be enough shots for Al on this team next year.
i wish i agreed with you
but i think ala harrington and donnie wlassh are too tight. he’ll be here next season. and it kills me.

the whole team
they all show signs of being inept lol no seriously this whole team needs a remake, hughes is good but al, lee, chandler, and nate suck and thats just fact. everyone loves nate and wat he brings to the table with high flying dunks and uplifting the crowd but wat else does he bring: technical fouls, chucking, undersize, and mental lapses lol come on lets be honest knick fans there are moves that kould have been made such as signing ramon sessions or trading chandler to the wizards for their pick that went to minnesota aka knick haters. DW has done a wonderful job of getting us ready for 2010 but his eyes need to be on the present as well as the future. Rubio and i will say his name one more time RUBIO is exactly what this team needs
Harrington needs to quit trying to be a leader...
he aint shit.
I mean, if the Knicks had a relevant starting 5 and then they had like Harrington and Nate to score off the bench, damn that would be great.
But AL doesn’t lead on the court. Teh whole chuck up every open 3 just doesn’t work.
DO WHAT JERRY HAIRSTON DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
