Game Thread: Knicks at Bucks- 11/7/09

New York Knicks at Milwaukee Bucks, Nov 7, 2009 8:30 PM EST

Emo-badger-save-them_medium

Well, here we are. I'm back from a mini-basketball-watching hiatus. In my absence, the Knicks fell to 1-5, pretty much confirming our suspicions that they are...well, just not very good. Last night, all the hooplah surrounded a certain Cavalier (y'all can say his name now, but I'm keeping the strike alive). Tonight, Brandon Jennings comes to town. As you surely know, Donnie Walsh (among others, let's not forget) passed on Jennings in this summer's draft in favor of Jordan Hill. While Young Money carves it up in Milwaukee, Hill has been riding Mike D'Antoni's bench for a team that could really use a ballsy point guard. I think you can see where this is going. Jennings probably has a chip on his shoulder and will give the Knicks hell tonight. Eyes will roll and the media will shit their diapers. I can't wait.

In the meantime, it would be really excellent if the Knicks could collect themselves and try and scrap together a win on the road. Stop on by for game thread goodness and head over to the superior Brew Hoop for Bucks coverage like you wouldn't believe.

Game tips off at 8:30 because the midwest can't hang.

I think I'd rather lose than see Brandon Jennings have a great game

I mean as long as Gallo is lighting it up fine, but if Jennings explodes for like 25 points and 10 assists and we only win because Hughes or Al Harrington have a 50 point fame, I’m going to consider it worse than a loss.

this team needs the self confidence

by fuhry on Nov 7, 2009 7:14 PM EST reply actions

just a thought

is there any reason why clyde wouldnt make a good nba coach

by karamjitm9090 on Nov 7, 2009 8:10 PM EST reply actions

it would take him too long to explain the plays

with precocious neophytes setting down screens so that teammates can start driving and thriving, and then make sure you dish to d-lee so he can swish the midrange jumper that will propel him to superstardom!

on an unrelated note, i watched knicks/cavs last night. told my friend pre-game that the knicks would be down 26 at one point, but would “come back” to lose by 11. pretty good prediction considering i’m out of market and last night’s game was the first i saw this season.

Even if he got some feelers ...

Seems like he’s too smart to put himself in a position to take that much shit on a regular basis.

duhon needs to be banished from the team

hes almost as bad as curry and we cannot win as long as hes starting

by KnickWiz on Nov 7, 2009 8:54 PM EST reply actions

pathetic

i rarely get mad at the knicks but good lord. HArrington and Duhon are ACTIVELY tryna “Get theirs” and get stats every play, from day 1. incredible. getting beat by bogut and a moute down the court on MADE HOOPS is ridiculous as well. fuckin A man, i havent been this mad at the knicks since i can remember

truest thing ive EVER heard from clyde and breen:

breen: obviously milwuakee hitting some tough shots…
clyde: well confidence is key!

even teams that cant shoot like philly and milwuakee have confidence in their offense versus us, and that gives players physically more energy and leads them to shoot better. crazy. ugh. fuck this

I think our players are just too used to losing

They have gotten used to it and they don’t seem to care.

by Frederic Weis on Nov 7, 2009 9:16 PM EST up reply actions

yea

but even last yr there was a different level of effort. they often TRIED and sucked and THEN gave up. this time they straight up go for stat padding for their FA season from tip off, and/or dont give a fuck abt D at ALL.

by Martha on Nov 7, 2009 9:21 PM EST reply actions

They look completely lost

This lack of defensive knowledge is antoni’s fault. thats it pure and simple. they look totally lost on defense. they just dont know what the fuck to do. This is not just lack of talent, the problem is coaching. The man simply doesnt know how to explain defense. In fact, I think the coaching staff doesnt know how to coach

Surprising

considering those awesome defensive teams in Phoenix

by Shivling on Nov 7, 2009 10:09 PM EST up reply actions

actually

defense was exactly the argument no-“D”-antoni had with Kerr in PHX before he was graciously allowed to depart, rather than being fired. Walsh needs to find a defensive guy and bring him in, this shit has got to stop now, while the season can still be saved. I’m so fucking pissed, is anyone watching this garbage???

I've been a knicks fan for over 17 years

not alot, i know, but this is the worst I’ve ever seen. We need a defensive coach to join this staff and help these guys to understand “TeaM Defense”
everyone please, right now, take a moment..bow your heads…and pray
pray that donnie gets a defensive coach to join this team and help change the culture and the knowledge level

it aint the coaching

the players dont give a shit. and thats all there is to it. watch duhon play. he is the leader of the team and he could care less.

douglas may be creeping

up on duhon’s minutes. Also, I say start hill over jeffries. Hill can rebound very nicely and he’s a better shot blocker. he hustles. he can get better if they give him minutes. this is a good time to do it, now that we have a pretty good sense of how this year is shaping up.
lee at center, hill at the 4, gallo at the 3, douglas at 1. I dont know who to put at 2 besides for hughes.

I say hill at 4 because he is a better weak side defender than lee. Much better

yeah hughes works at the 2 for now

let young wilson work on those handles for awhile, then maybe he starts when larry goes cold or gets hurt.

hopefully this was a season-changing beat down tonight

by Ray Smuckles on Nov 7, 2009 10:57 PM EST up reply actions

correction Utah has our number 1 pick

i say number 1 bekuz thats prolly where they’ll end up…as for the poor shit i seen tonight well where do i start first….ok…PG: Terrible duhon is not a starter he doesnt even get good assists if anyone hasnt noticed. he isnt flashy nor does he create for his teammates, now you dont have to be flashy but damn wtf throw an alley-oop for once.SG: my respect has come back for larry for real he’s doin wat a veteran is expected to do. SF: Gallo best knick pick since mark jackson period. PF: lol this is a joke chandler at the 4 lmao he is not a 4 nor a 2 he is a 3 lets be honest about that which in the negative fucks us up but in the positive gives us a trading piece. C LMFAO lee is shit period he was never good, i tried to tell everyone that since they drafted him over Monta Ellis ( yea go look that up) he was an enigma, a good role player capitalizing on other nba teams inexpeirence with his game. hes a good rebounder yes but check the knicks first 7 games and look at his stat lines yes he got a few double-doubles but u have to look at how long it took him to get it and how well he shot the ball as well as the fact that him and Al “Kant stop shooting” harrington are both the most shot takers but dont make most of them, those two and lil nate the fake are goin to be the death of this team this year mark my words on that. as for the line-up, well the knicks are goin to suck period they just dont have the talent or drive to be better as everyone kan see but we have bright spots namely Chandler*, Gallo, Hill, TD, Hughes and to some extent Darko. now as i said b4 and i will keep saying Rubio Rubio Rubio thats the answer and i know this. Chandler must go and i know what everyone else from NY will say well hes young and they say hes the future BULLSHIT, hes not that good otherwise he wouldnt have fallen to us as the 21st pick. hes not that bad but his natural position is sf and Gallo fills that, Gallo will and should not start at any other position he’s too slow and plays perfect for the 3. thus we must get rid of chandler, addition by subtraction thats how the celtics became winners by trading their young “talent” for players. trade chandler and lee or nate and lee to the wolves for Rubio and try to get a 1st rounder for either of the three. there are alot of teams that know they are making the playoffs that would trade their 1st rounder for any of three. as for the rest of the team well they wont be here honestly kuz their all backups besides the young ones hill and td. and i like darko he jus need to play a lil bit harder and add excitement to his face lol.

P.S: LEE SUCKS, NATE IS A SHOW OF SHIT, AND AL IS WORTHLESS

Fuck everyone that's not nammed Gallinari on this team

they are worthless. This includes the so called coach
