a sudden comforting thought
All this talk of how frustrated we are at the Knicks lack of effort thus far has stirred plenty of thoughts and ideas. I just realized a silver lining though.
At least we aren't the Golden State Warriors.
I don't know if we can argue which team has better talent. That could stir some debate. I think we are much better off. But GS also isn't playing for the 2010 FA class. At least NY has a plan in place. I still like our coach too. But Golden State??!! New York is nowhere close to that trainwreck. Don Nelson is straight torturing those fans.

speaking of comforting thoughts though
i took a nap this afternoon and i dreamed that nate snuck onto the court during a game with a huge cast on his leg and a nasty limp. he kept sneaking in to take the ball from duhon and making things happen. but then the refs realized that we had 6 guys on the court and they tackled nate and slammed him to the ground.
i was comforted by the effort and the heart.

Dont get bit by the Bobcats
They have some talent, but they have no idea how to bring it out. I’m sure they will be the Bucks from a few years ago. Spent the year playing solid basketball, 4th-5th seed basketball, only to slump at the end of the season and blow it. Look at who their coach is too? don’t know that i would have shipped out Okafor to bring in Chandler, nor peaced out Jason Richardson…. other than Gerald Wallace, who can lead that team? Good as Crash is, he’s gonna get hurt at some point.

doesn't matter
who gives a damn if the Bobcats are a fringe playoff team? they don’t have a guy who will be the first or second option on a title contender, and that’s all that matters. the playoffs are worthless without championships, and the Bobcats are as far away as humanly possible. coming in as the 8th seed would be the worst thing possible for them – they need a draft lottery miracle.
at least the Knicks can throw the 2010 hail mary and try to entice a superstar. and golden state actually has a lot of talent, but don nelson and management are running them into the ground. that team will resurface one day, once nelson finally retires/dies or the team gets sold.

I actually think the Warriors have some talent
much more than teh Knicks right now.
Its cuz DOn Nelson is straight up out of his mind.
But that’s right now.
I don’t think the Knicks are in as bad a situation as we think, cuz after this season…it all may end.
The Warriors got some BAD contracts on that team.
Definitely the Knicks are hitting rock bottom, the Warriors didn’t yet.

yeah
I don’t doubt Golden State’s talent. They are loaded with it. But the chaos being created by Don Nelson is borderline unbearable. Who the hell knows who is even gonna PLAY the next game? They put up 146 points (egad!) last night. Randolph put up a great line in 30 mins, watch him play 15 in the next game. They moved Monta to SG, after spending a year building him up as a PG, in favor of a rookie (who is pretty good). Stephen Jackson might be a PF? And Captain? thy haven’t hit rock bottom yet, but this All Time Wins Record that Nelson seeks (21 wins away) is gonna be the longest 21 wins for these fans. I have a feeling they won’t even cheer for him once he gets it.

that's what I'm saying...
if D’Antoni was coach of the Warriors????
They’d be right back to that crazy ass team that beat the Mavericks in that series a few years ago.
Nelson is an alky who has no clue what he’s doing or he’s got.
I mean its almost $40 million between Ellis, Maggete, SJAX and Biedrins…..and yea, Biedrins is basically a taller and faster (and less talented) version of DLee…but I mean those other 3 can score fairly consistently if they want (much more than anyone on the Knicks at least).
They would be a team that should be pisses at their coach. They really do seem to have a semi (pause) decent team, but the coach is ape-shit crazy.

yeah
Nelson is just flat-out awful. He’s a decent coach if he has an established, balanced veteran team. He’s always been innovative, and I like that. But with logjams at positions, young guys, he’s just awful. And if he has any control AT ALL over personel (signings or trades or drafts) he’s just a disaster.

I like the word ape-shit
Its feels great just to say it.
I don’t really remember if Don Nelson was like this when he coached NY. I seem to remember feeling he did a decent job.
The only thing i like about him is when he pulls a trade, its always like 6-7 dudes for 7-8 dudes and 13 draft picks. He goes bat-shit on trading deadlines. Just tryin that one on for size…its good but nothing says it like ape-shit.

I'll take the Timberwolves as the dark horse in the awfulness cup.
I mean, wow.
I support the Tornado Release ... and Young Bucks.

T-Wolves for the win!
Yea the Wolves are by far the worst organization in the league right now, about 6 point guards taken in the draft, at least 1 undrafted point guard taken right afterward, and 1 point guard signed during free agency …. so with all these PG’s who’s playing the forward/center spots? j/k
Seriously though, a rookie GM who briefly considered signing a rookie coach, who passed on Curry, DeRozan, Casspi, etc, even though he had holes at C, SF, SG, not just PG? He manages a team in a location so cold NO BODY wants to play there … needing thermal wear to go clubbing is not going to go over well with free agents.
He drafted a player who’d rather listen to his mother about Minn being to cold for her, then get payed millions of dollars. He drafts Nate Robinson, oops, I mean J Flyn and the poor guy’s team is playing in the Western Conference, which is stacked with tough teams … yea at least the Bobcats/Knicks are chillin in the East where a single superstar caliber player can carry a bad team all the way to the finals (LJ, D-Wade, Iverson, etc.).
I think the Wolves have some nice pieces but I do not see them doing anything until they get themselves a capable GM. The Warriors have the same issues as the Wolves only GS has way more talent on their roster. The Knicks are being managed well now, for once, but they are seriously lacking in talent at the moment. I agree that the Bobcats are in really bad shape right now. Their organization is having money issues, their good enough to play themselves out of the lottery but not good enough to win a title. On top of all that they’re going to have to hire a new coach soon since Larry Brown is infamous for jumping ship on his teams.
