Game Thread: Knicks at Hornets- 12/11/09
New York Knicks at New Orleans Hornets, Dec 11, 2009 8:00 PM EST
Anyway, this is your spot to comment throughout the game, as well as volunteer to recap if you're so inclined. I hope everybody has a wonderful night, and especially the Knicks. Come on by to talk to your fellow Knicks bros, and head on over to At The Hive as well.

Hopefully we win
Lets hope these knicks play like they have the last few games and get a win
More so than winning
I want Eddy Curry to play really well, so that we could trade him ASAP. If he doesn’t string together at least 10 straight decent games there’s no way we’re getting rid of him.
Did any else think
…that MDA’s praise of CP3 in the Post today was a wee bit too effusive?

“Chris does what Chris wants to do,” D’Antoni said. “It’s not up to us. He’ll make threes, he’ll make great passes and we just try to eliminate the other guys as much as we can and try to limit what he produces — which will be a lot.”
Damn, son…how ’bout a little gamesmanship.
Rangers, Royals, Raiders, Knicks...the man loves a winner.
Knicks need to get all up in that rectum.....

How come no one covers Steve Smith?
So far, all jumpshots, 15 feet or more, and all bad ones. Hornets up 11-0. In comes Gallo.
Rangers, Royals, Raiders, Knicks...the man loves a winner.
And promptly nails one.

LOL…how bruised are we Knick fans. 3 minutes in, and the game’s over.

Gallo
Theyre doing a good job incorporating him into the offense tonight.
Do What Danilo Gallinari Do
He makes one bad shot..and immediately makes up for it on the other end. This kid is a player.
Hornets immediately go on 8-0 run.
Kidding. Sort of.

There is a very large man making an appearance for the Knickerbockers.
I do not recognize him.

Hey guys I’m new to commenting here but i read the blog frequently thought I’d start commenting… that CP3 foul at the end of the first was clearly after the buzzer he got the call because he;s CP3
hopefully there will be a day
when Gallo gets calls because he’s Gallo.

random thought
i’ve been reading a lot about how the Knicks are going to move Nate once he becomes trade eligible on the 22nd. good thing? bad thing?

I have mixed feelings about it.. I mean it really depends what we get back in the deal which at this point wont be a lot. I like nate and I do think he can mature but trading him now while his value’s down i don’t know.
i don't think there's any reason to let him go
unless they can package Curry or Jeffries with him, which is doubtful.

Why is gallo sitting on phil jacksons thrown lol he looks like he’s 7 foot sitting down… is it because of his back?
clearly has a bad back
that’s the only thing keeping him from kobe numbers, haha
Johnny Hoops saying that Wil looked "Dr. J-ish" on that.
Easy, pal.
Knicks seem like they should be getting killed in this game, but are hanging tough.

Scratch that..
Peja time, Hornets suddenly up by 11.

Did Kelly Tripucka just say
that his brother’s name is Tracy?
Methinks that Mama and Papa Tripucka had some issues.

Give Credit!
I’m chalking this streak extending win up to Stingy D’s inspiring post today. Who’s got love Chris Paul now? Knicks pushing for the playoffs is all I’m interested these days.

Duhon
Needs him mom to send him more of that gumbo
a few days ago
I asked if this new aggressive Duhon should be expected all the time. Looks like he delivered the answer tonight.

To his credit
He hasn’t been turning the ball over all season. But 6-8 from three indicates the end is indeed nigh.
unreal
i’m no Hollinger, but i have to assume the Knicks’ win predictor has to jump 5872% when Duhon shoots 6-of-8 from three.

Gallo's Defense
was a big “shut your mouth” to all those writers who look at him and say he’s a liability on defense because he’s skinny and white. He had very good, and very clutch defense tonight.

Jared Jeffries
Another good game from him. CP3 shot 4-14.
Still got my reservations on Duhon starting but he played a helluva game 2nite

Give credit to the defense!
And I’m not just saying that with hometown bias. Besides Peja, the Hornets don’t really have any other great shooters. Posey and Paul are okay, but not amazing, and West has the mid-range, but he was usually looking at a hand in his face. The Knicks did a good job of buttoning up Peja in the second half, and contested everything else.

I know...
It feels really weird to say, “give credit to the Knicks defense.” Boy! That hasn’t rolled off my tongue since the 90’s.

yeh, the defense shut shit down in the second half
it was like they was everywhere at one time, the second a hornet took a shot there was like six knicks jerseys up in the air contesting them even tho only five are allowed on court

Think it was Du that said in the postgame that all they did to make adjustments during halftime was lock in on Peja. Makes sense, as he killed the Knicks at the end fo the first half.
That was pretty sweet, but even as Du was nailing those threes, I was saying “err, this is not how we want to be winning games.” If he’s feeling it, though, it’s pretty awesome to watch.
