Game Thread: Knicks vs. Bobcats- 12/20/09

Charlotte Bobcats at New York Knicks, Dec 20, 2009 7:30 PM EST

Charlotte1761close-up_medium

Evening, snowpeople. The Knicks will get a chance to make up lost ground tonight and Tuesday, when they rematch each of the two teams that beat them over the last few weeks. Tonight, the Bobcats, who made fools of the Knicks in Charlotte, will pay a visit to the Garden. The ladyfriend and I will be in attendance tonight, which marks my first trip to MSG in a long, long time. It'll also be the first time I'm in the same room as the demon-coach since his evil reign in New York came to an end. Has anybody out there been to a Bobcats game recently? What precautions do I need to take? Gas mask? Trident? Wooden stake? I've only studied the beast from afar. Get at me.

Comment along in this here thread and don't forget to check out Rufus on Fire.

Look for me in the crowd putting hexes on demon-coach and waving to Jonathan Bender. I may or may not be wearing a cape.

Go Knicks!

If your ladyfriend

thought SAC was Sex and the City, what does she think CHA is? The Chicago Housing Authority?

After what the Jets did today

I might just put a bullet in my head if Larry Brown beats the Knicks for the 3rd time in a row this reason

agree with this

but it’s typical jets heartbreaking fare.

by the way, anyone else getting a weird echo on breen and clyde’s commentary?

great clyde and breen exchange

breen: knicks are sluggish tonight!
clyde: yeah, but the bobcats are sluggisher!
breen: is that even a word? clyde, if you can find a rhyme for that, you get the prize…

typically,

I’d shut off my tv now that gallo’s out, but he was replaced by bender, so i’ll keep it on.

by thePharcyde on Dec 20, 2009 8:02 PM EST up reply actions

you know what i like about bender

Extremely high release point. It’s very tough to get a hand in the guy’s face/on the ball when he shoots a trey.

by riise on Dec 20, 2009 8:14 PM EST reply actions

he’s also 7 feet tall

by thePharcyde on Dec 20, 2009 8:15 PM EST up reply actions

lol

yes the two are related.

Don't know

Y the knicks were looking at DJ Augustin….I think his game is similar to Nates….In fact I think Nate is way better(attitude aside)

by JkiLLa on Dec 20, 2009 9:09 PM EST via mobile reply actions

DJ Augustin is more in control, he has more potential as a real PG.

i knew the bobcats would play better

when jackson went out. quintessential example of a ballhog tonight.

by latrell chokewell on Dec 20, 2009 9:18 PM EST reply actions

to think some fans wanted him…Jax is Al Harrington with a worse attitude

I'm new

To the site by the way…..I love it….I check this site and theknicksblog.com all day.

I would love

To see Nate get a second chance…but I don’t thinks it gonna happen now

I just turned the game back on, who left with lower back spasms?

COCK BLOCK!

Bender

Was he this good of a shooter when he played with the Pacers? I don’t remember it that way, but I guess I didnt watch him play all that much

by ibnyc on Dec 20, 2009 9:40 PM EST reply actions

yup.

he was always a good shooter.

He was very skinny tho and it led to a lot of injuries. If he weighed 210lbs, it was an overestimate.

by FreeBradshaw on Dec 20, 2009 9:45 PM EST up reply actions

I wouldn’t say being skinny leads to bad knees. It’s usually weight that causes bad knees. He just wasn’t very productive.

by mindfeck on Dec 21, 2009 12:29 AM EST up reply actions

For his

Second game back, Bender looks surprising good….fit way better in the system than Curry

by JkiLLa on Dec 20, 2009 9:44 PM EST via mobile reply actions

And

He’s the only knick to actually hit a shot in the last 10 minutes.

not to beat a dead horse

(is that how the saying goes), but COCK BLOCK!!

by thePharcyde on Dec 20, 2009 10:11 PM EST reply actions

I loved that weaving, barely in control move down the court by Gallo.

The dude almost broke through everyone for a dunk. I’ll excuse those missed FT’s, he’s 21. But big play at the end there from Gallo. Charlotte hit a lot of shots and got a lot of lucky bounces. Tough performance there, holding on.

by fuhry on Dec 20, 2009 10:11 PM EST reply actions

He was fouled about four times on that possession. Refs are terrible. He was fouled before getting the ball, then slapped two or three times by different Bobcats before a foul was called.

by mindfeck on Dec 21, 2009 12:31 AM EST up reply actions

Knicks

Mess up a lot of rebounds….two players going up together…Bobcats hustle kept them in it….they’re not a bad team

by JkiLLa on Dec 20, 2009 10:16 PM EST via mobile reply actions

I thought he fouled-

GALLO!

That amazing last second block made up for those missed free throws

The Cock Blocks have been the highlight of this season. I am very grateful.
