Game Thread: Knicks vs. Nets-12/6/09

New Jersey Nets at New York Knicks, Dec 6, 2009 12:00 PM EST

800px-mollypitcher_medium
Morning, babies! It's bright and early on a Sunday, and why not accompany your brunch with a match-up between two of the league's worst teams? The Nets, for their part, recently ended a record streak of early-season losing, so the Knicks don't have to worry about making history. We're not interested in giving NJ their first win streak of the year, though, so let's hope the guys can take care of business today at the Garden.

Comment along if you're watching, and bring your friends, too. Check out Nets are Scorching for a little previewing action from the opposing perspective.

you guys think

portland will be knocking down the door for david lee, now that oden is probably done?

which sucks by the way, because oden was having a great season

by stingy d on Dec 6, 2009 1:31 PM EST up reply actions

i have a picture

that is black and white. i’d like it to appear on shirts of all colors (not just dark shirts) with white ink, so it looks kinda like a sticker. i haven’t found a way to do this, because zazzle insists on making white transparent on light-colored shirts.

by Seth on Dec 6, 2009 1:34 PM EST up reply actions

well zazzle is the problem.

when screenprinting you would probably want to do 2 pulls to make the white come through correctly. but doing two pulls opens you up to a lot of mistakes. zazzle probably doesn’t want to waste ink/shirts on that situation. you probably need some type of plasticene highly toxic shit.

the problem is zazzle. somebody can do it for you. i dunno who though.

oh cool!

you might want to investigate those hood t shirt dudes. i don’t got any clue how to find them…

but you know the guys with the shirts that are like a sparkly frosted flakes box across the whole chest and it will say some stupid shit implying that he person wearing the shirt sells coke?

ask them who makes their shirts.

watch out for them.

but anyway… i don’t know how to help you… especially when you are going third party with it. i know these guys: http://www.daydreamsilkscreen.com … and they are pretty creative, don’t know if it will be helpful, but eric is the owner and he is very helpful and knowledgable. at the very least he could probably steer you in the right direction if he can’t help you directly.

I was trying to figure out why the Nets are so bad, given that they have a few pretty damn good players, and then I remembered that most of the time, they don’t get to play the Knicks.

58 FG%. Awesome.

by Rodger Sherman on Dec 6, 2009 1:33 PM EST up reply actions

Just had an image of Seth walking down to the bodega on the corner in his bathrobe and filppy floppies to get his jelly, gun in waistband.

oh also

finding jelly is tough around here, since they change the stash house every day.

by Seth on Dec 6, 2009 1:38 PM EST up reply actions

One of the things I hate about listening to Knick and Ranger radio broadcasts on weekends is that the lineup always get jumbled, due to Kenny Albert’s and Gus’s obligations elsewhere in the NFL or NCAA. Last night, we had Joe Tolleson (who’s actually OK) on the Ranger game, and today….Mike Crispinooooooo. He’s more disproportionately excitable than Gus, if you can believe that.

Rangers, Royals, Raiders, Knicks...the man loves a winner.

not scoring wise

but duhon keeps more guys involved than nate. and he runs the pick and roll way better. Nate’s just not a team player

Guards well? http://www.82games.com/0910/09NYK6.HTM
The guy he “guards” has a PER around 22. His PER is 8. That kills the team.

Gets boards? 2.9 a game in 20 minutes. That’s terrible.
Gets steals? 0.5 a game. Also terrible.
Gets blocks? 0.8 a game, not bad.

For another stat, his offensive rating is 99, and his defensive rating is 112. That’s third worst on the team. Chandler and Duhon are slightly worse.
He turns the ball over 50% more than the next worst guy on the team. That’s staggering.
