An Outsider
Hello, I recently joined Posting and Toasting because the Knicks are a very interesting team to me. Everybody thinks they are in such bad shape, but I think Donnie Walsh has done a solid job and they have put together some excellent pieces. With this being said, I have a few questions
1. What is your teams current starting lineup and rotation ( a little of bit of analysis would be helpful too)
2. In your opinion, what will the Knicks do with Nate Robinson and David Lee this offseason
3. I recently read the fanpost mentioning a rumor of trading Wilson Chandler for the 5th pick in the draft. Many commenters said this would be bad. Do you guys see this much value in Chandler? I mean, he is versatile and pretty good all around but, is there something I am missing? What position do you see him winding up at?
4. Who do you see the Knicks taking with the 8th pick and who do you want them to take. Just wondering because I will probably do something resembling a Mock Draft later tonight on my blog, Nick and Roll (sorry about the plug...I wouldn't even recommend going there for a few days...I haven't blogged in quite a while)
Any info is appreciated

well since you asked...
the knicks are going to re-sign lee and robinson. chandler will stay put.
starters will be as so-
pg- duhon
sg- richardson
sf- chandler
pf- gallinari
c- lee
but since i’m probably wrong. i recommend that you use my input as the sole basis for your intriguing blog.
This season
I just don’t see anyone with the potential of Willie Chan for the #5 pick. Just his twitter posts alone make it that I’ll only trade him for either the #2 or Luis Scola.
I think this draft has plenty of talent, but its just that there really isn’t a guy like Chandler in the draft, and its not like the Knicks have another Chandler on the roster.
I see him in the future as the Knicks version of Boris Diaw, undersized SF/PF off the bench
best attempt at answering...
1) the rotation this past season was some combination of Duhon, Q, Chandler, Harrington, Lee, Jeffries – with Nate, Gallo, Hughes, and Wilcox the regulars off the bench.
2) i think the Knicks will re-sign Robinson at $5-6M per year. they’ll either let Lee walk or deal him in a sign-and-trade. he will command $9-10M and the Knicks aren’t going to pay that.
3) Chandler has a lot of potential. i’m not sure that he has a true position. he’s essentially a 6’8 wing.
4) Tyreke Evans – but it doesn’t look like he’s going to be there. to be honest, i have no idea who they’ll take. there have been about 10 different names from Jonny Flynn to BJ Muellens that have been associated with that #8 pick.

Masons haircut answered the factual questions perfectly.
as for opinions on the draft, my wishlist draft board looks like this:
1 Ricky Rubio (Chad Ford was just talking about him slipping in the draft because of athleticism!)
2 Jonny Flynn
3 Brandon Jennings
4 Ty Lawson
5 Tyreke Evans
Although I doubt anybody else agrees with my list. And note the absence of Steph Curry.
I don't think anyone would have a problem with that order of prospects
cuz let’s face it, no one realyl knows who’s gonna be a player.
I know a lot of P&Ters have a man crush on Rubio. I personally don’t care for him. I don’t see him as the next Nash at all…I see him as the next Jason Williams (the white one).
Flynn can jump out the building, but he’s shorter than Lawson and we already have Nate.
I mean you put Nate (and Flynn or Lawson) together and you might have something, but I like Nate.
Jennings a lot like too, he’s grown on me (no homo for all of this) just cuz I found out he’s left handed and went to Oak Hill Acadamy….idea of drafting the next Rod Strickland Id think would make a lot of peopel happy.
I like that you have no Steph Curry tho, I really hope they don’t get him. I like shooting and scoring, but IMO that means jack shit if you can’t guard anyone.
That’s also my reason for no Rubio or Jennings, and also Lawson and Flynn cuz where they were decend defenders in college, that has a lot more to do with the system. Guys like Holliday and Evans and even Terrence Williams should the Knicks manage to trade back a bit are excellent on the ball defendesr. If the Knicks have no shot at a shot blocker, why not get some good defensive guards?

Tyreke Evans
has grown on me (no homo) since you brought his name up a couple of weeks ago. he’s gone from being projected in the 20s to as high as #2.
i’m really hoping the Knicks get him.

My Oppinion!
I AGREE a gaurd that can score dont mean sh*t if they cant defend, I do like Jennings over Curry tho cause he has more of an idea how to play in the league then any of those guys by playing over in europe. But i wouldnt put Jennings over Curry if avail. cause curry hasnt shown that he could defend well enough in my eyes. but I like his game and it would work for the Knicks, but i also think the Knicks would keep Nate, Lee, and Chandler, cause no one else on the team can score like Nate can, and noone can get doubles like Lee on the team, also no one has on all around game like Chandler who also is their only defence and only shot blocker, but i would get rid of Duhon, Hughes, Richardson, Eddy Curry, and Jeffries, for a low post player that can defend and a shooting gaurd that can score and defend thats my opinion. “sorry for the miss spelling”
