What if.....
Although we didn't get Curry or Evans or any of the flashy point guards in the draft, somehow, I still felt OK after the draft. Last night, I woke up in the middle of the night and saw a glimmer of light squeezing through my window shade...that my friends, is what I like to call a metaphor. The last time the Knicks were a respectable team was when Lebron was in 8th grade, but what if, somehow, the stars aligned, and a few of the Knicks' talent panned out, and they became.......decent?
What if...
Danillo Gallinari (who's listed at 6'10" on knicks.com?) had a breakout year, maybe show similarities to Hedo Turkoglu's game...it's not out of the realm of possibility...
What if...
Darko Milic, who's just 24, finally gets healthy and D'Antoni figures out a way to make him effective, maybe average, oh I don't know, 12.0 points a game?...it could happen, right?
What if...
Toney Douglas, the ACC Scoring champion and ACC Defensive Player of the Year, who showed flashes of lottery pick talent in the ACC tournament, brought some firey offense and intense defense off the bench, say like a...Shannon Brown (who is not nearly the player Douglas is), JR Smith, or Aaron Brooks. I'm not saying he's as quick or skilled as those guys, but Douglas certainly has a better college resume than the others, and he played all four years...he can do it
What if...
Jordan Hill, who many believed to be a Top 5 talent, can run the court like they say, with shades of Amare in him. And what if Chris Duhon, (if we don't trade for Rubio) just plays a SOLID point guard, say...10points and 8 assists per game?
I haven't even mention Chandler because I'm afraid they might trade him. He has so much potential it scares me. He has a beautiful shot, he's big and athletic, and can shoot over anyone. I haven't mentioned Harrington, who's proven he can put up 30+ (on an incredibly inconsistent basis)...but still...the ability is there.
And what if....somehow...the Knicks work out a deal with the Wolves that sends Lee and Robinson for Rubio or Flynn....The Knicks rotation for next year, before the biggest free agent class of all time, could look like this:
Rubio/Flynn, Douglas, Chandler, Hill, Darko.
Gallinari, Harrington, Hughes, Duhon and Curry off the bench?
The average age of that starting lineup is just over 21 years old, who wouldn't wanna sign with a team that young, and play for the Knicks...in two years??
Rubio/Flynn, Chandler, Lebron, Bosh, Darko.
Bench: Hill, Gallinari, Harrington...
You guys remember JP from Angels in the Outfield..."HEY, it could happen!"

What a second you might be on to something!!
But now that i think about it…..nahhhhhh!!!!! lol Im one of the few that believe they need to hold on to Lee and Nate to have a shot at a decent season but at this point that would be highly unlikely

Are you for real or what!!!
If thats how you would make a team better, then ill stick with a high school team to win the NBA championship. If you are willing to trade the best players on the knicks (LEE and NATE) for players that have a great chance to be ok off the bench, then your crazy. also, you are willing to keep Duhon, Hughes, and Curry, who did nothing to improve the team at all, thats plain stupid moves. The Knicks did make some pretty dumb moves, and got RID off good players that can score and grab rebounds, but at least Isiah Tomas (probably spelled wrong but who cares) brought in some good players but the wrong coach, and, they still competed as a playoff team, altho, they didnt make the playoffs, KEEP NATE and LEE trade Duhon, Hughes, Curry, and Harrington, make moves that help the players we have improve and become all-stars, like Nate, Lee, and Chandler. thats how it should be. Get rid or good players for garbage players is real crazy and stupid. Another bad president of the knicks just like the last one from 2 years ago.
