So... are we getting Rubio or what?
Rumors have been circulating, as many of you know. I have heard that they would have to give up Lee and Nate, then I've heard they would have to give up Chandler and other times I've read we would have to trade both Chandler and Hill. Honestly I wouldn't mind the first two scenarios, but giving up Hill and Chandler would be ridiculous. If we made either of the first two deals we would have a starting line up of Rubio, Douglas, Galinari, Hill, and Darko (of course it is very possible that they would start a few vets over those guys, but that would be my ideal lineup.) That right there is a young starting core of 5 first round picks, 4 of which were taken top 8 and 1 who many see as a steal at 29 (ghostface).
With the potential that lineup poses there will be a lot less pressure to secure a big name free agent in 2010. I feel that is a team that can develop and be very good for many years.
Then I have also read this ridiculous rumor from the NY Times that we would be looking at Jason Kidd for a 1 year deal... god lets hope not.
So what do you all think? Are we going to get Rubio? Do you even want Rubio?

Id take Jason Kidd for a year or 2
Especially if the Knicks managed to get Rubio in order to teach him on how to be a 6"4 PG with no jump shot (tho Kidd’s got a nice shot now).
Who better for Rubio to learn a thing or 2 from?
Id love to get Rubio. I mean I kinda don’t want to give up Hill or Chandler, but who really knows if Hill’s upside or even Chandler’s upside is Rubio’s, or even vice versa.
I would wait and trade Lee for him cuz I don’t want Lee getting $10 mil on the Knicks. He’s earned it, but that’s too much.
Maybe Lee and an expiring carcass would be nice to trade for him.
Gahhhh
I’m so anti-Kidd it hurts. I can’t root for Jason Kidd.

yup
Same my man, I see no point in it. It isn’t like anyone considers us contenders for the finals this year, so why waste the money on a falling star?
i just don't want to see Kidd's kid every night
he creeps me out. he looks like the lovechild of Joakim Noah and Sam Cassell.

Im anti-Kidd too
But if he could help us put together a decent year just so Utah doesnt get a top 10 pick im all for it. Could you imagine the fall out of John Wall puting on a Utah hat that wouldve been a Knicks hat?

about rubio
i have no idea. and honestly i don’t think the wolves do either. right now they’re not sure what fair value is for him, so they’re asking for everything and the kitchen sink.
but really, once it gets to be around the trade deadline, the real offers should be in place. i think that chandler, ghostface, and cash considerations could get it done. the question is, can another team offer more? i just don’t know.
one last thing. can we please stop talking about lee for rubio? the wolves don’t need lee at all, they already have their “slightly undersized rebounding white guy” quota filled with kevin love. let it die, please.

I don't think the Knicks have enough to get Rubio
I would think other teams could put together a better package for him.

that's not the point
Of course the Blazers or the Thunder or whoever have more to get him.
But Rubio seems intent on playing either for the West coast teams or the Knicks. Sacromento could have drafted him, so they obviously don’t want him.
The Warriors might make sense with a package starting with Steph Curry.
The Wolves already turned down an offer with Chandler so maybe either the Knicks don’t have enough or the Wolves are just dumb enough to play this thing out

i am hoping
that we completely rip off minn.
it was done to us soooo many times, i feel like karma owes us a lopsided trade.
well if we dont make a deal
we could potentially have a lineup of nate, ghostface, wil, galo, and hill.
that would be a lot of fun… although small.
