Duhon for Miller?
I don't really buy this particular rumor, but it makes sense that the Knicks are after Miller. They couldn't get the 36 year-old Kidd or the 36 year-old Hill, so they cut their losses and settle for a 33 year-old. I'll probably be off the webz until tomorrow morning, so I guess I'll open this rumor up for discussion in the meantime. Have at it.

It says they want more than duhon?
Perhaps they would be interested in Edward Curry or jared jeffries
If they could swap duhon for miller i would be happy with it. No question it would be major upgrade for us but it would tear into the 2010 cap. But when you put it in terms of he could get a similar or same deal we offered Kidd it makes it sound pretty good
21% shooter from 3pt range is a concern but his fg% is like 46 or 47

What the hell is going on with his hair???
Can you imagine if this hair teamed up with the Pre Walsh David Lee Coif??? Anyway, Don’t mind Miller as much as I would Hill or Kidd. He IS 33 but is more athletic than Kidd and more durable than Hill. Don’t know how well he’d fit into Pringles scheme but he’s still a good player I’d take over Duhon any day..bad 3pt % and all.
Should we break the bank and go over budget for Andre Miller? Why not we have been threatening to do so for a pair of hospice patients already. Difficult for me to answer…I don’t think so, but if they did I wouldn’t hold a grudge….unless they did something reeeeaaal stupid like give him a back loaded five or six year deal.

Do you mean Brad Miller on the bulls?

Were the Hill and Kidd lowball offers
just a PR ploy so that Knicks fans would talk themselves into Dre Miller?
Donnie’s plan of targeting over-the-hill vets is seriously melting my brain. One year deals? Fine. Three years of Andre Miller bricking open jumpers? No thanks. Does the prospect of playing with any of these guys (Kidd, Hill, Miller, Kevin Willis, Methuselah, etc.) whet the appetite of any max level FA? “O Snapz, Knicks got a 35 year old washed-up, psuedo-allstar who can’t keep defenses honest by hitting an open J? For the next 3 years? Where do I sign?”
Even weirder is how they’re being courted. The non-competitive offer for Kidd never had a chance (Thank God). The option for Hill to waste a year on a non-contender for the full-mid, or to make 3 mill a year on a team that MIGHT compete wasn’t exactly the hard sell. Maybe they’ll offer Miller a penthouse overlooking the Gowanus.
Part of me thinks this is simple posturing on Walsh’s part, but why would he do that? To show LeBron he trying? To show the fans he’s trying? To make sure other teams overbid? None of these really makes sense. This whole process makes zero sense. I’m bewildered.

i dont think so
the kidd offer was a “holy shit, we can get jason kidd for 3 years at the MLE… he really wants to come to NYC so lets offer it and see.” and it didnt work out. no biggie, but if he woulda came for that price for 3 years, it would have been a good thing. i dont think many realize how good it would be to have a kidd/duhon pg this year.
the hill offer was a little less of a chance, and i dont think DW was as into hill as he was kidd. seeing that we already have a bunch of guys that play his spot. but the chance to get a professional like hill, by again using the only 2 selling points we have in a coach and a city, he took a shot in the dark.
both times it was a longshot, but i think DW felt that if he could add the kind of quality player (both on the court and in the clubhouse) NY has not had in a LONG time… he was gonna take a shot.
the miller one i dont think is gonna happen. I am not into this one as much as the other two, because we would have to give up duhon. if it was for JJ or Mobleys expiring, or the trade exception (whatever that is) then I would be all for it, but trading duhon for miller puts us in almost the same spot we are in now.
if we get a 1st round pick out of it, then I am for it 100%..
No way we get a 1st round pick out of this
Andre Miller is an upgrade over Duhon and the 76ers know it

Jeffries for James?
Is it me or does a trade of Jared Jeffries to Washington for PG Mike James make too much sense? The Wizards are looking for some frontcourt bodies and have been looking to rid themselves of James the whole offseason with Arena coming back. The Knicks need another PG to keep Duhon fresh over the course of the season. James has put up good 3-Pt shooting pct. – so D’Antoni should like him, too. The deal would also help the Knicks since James’ contract expires at the conclusion of this season, while Jeffries’ contract is a hinderance to the Plan for 2010. Jeffries is 6 years younger, but there has to be some benefit to the Wizards in the deal for eating his contract for an additional year. Thoughts???
DC Chocolate City!
That trade makes far too much sense for the knicks
we need to do things half-assed and backwards in order to get things done
Although i do agree with you 100% a friend of mine showed me the same deal on another forum. Wiz are already have a lot of money on the books for 2010 so if they really need a body this would be ideal for everyone.

Add the fact that Jeffries
played with most all those guys before and did pretty good for them.
It just makes too much sense to go down. If Mike James was like 36 y/o, Walsh would be all over that.

Bad deal
Miller can ball, he would do work in the transition game but dude can’t shoot straight. Also he’s been known for not kepping himself in the best of shape
He would be a more expensive Duhon. Dantoni would play him 45 minutes a night and he’d be worn out halfway through the season. The Knicks need a young PG, and they should keep Nate. He’s crazy but a perfect fit for D’antoniball
