Look, I think we all need to take a deep breath and step back. Why are we so hungry for Sessions?
Okay, first of all, I do like him, and I think he's a slight upgrade over Duhon. Still, he's not an upgrade that will make a difference. Do you really think that Ramon Sessions could be the floor general for a contender? His game is really similar to Duhon, and the only advantage he has over Duhon is that he's younger, slightly more athletic, and he's got a healthy back, but that's nothing to offer a 4 to 5 year deal for.
A huge hole in his game that no one one this site seems to be worried about is his shooting. He's a horrible three point shooter, and Dantoni's system relies heavily on guys who can shoot. We already have Jared Jeffries on our team. How many more people are we going to put on the floor that the defense can lapse off of?
He's a nice player, but seriously, what's with all this love and multi-year contract talk? I think we need to be more patient. We got Duhon and and Ghostface for sure, and possibly Nate for one more year. Anything can happen in that one year. Teams get injuries or hit financial problems and are suddenly ready to deal pieces they weren't before. A lot can happen in a year. Players who are not available now may become available as the year goes along. If the product we're looking for ain't on the shelf, we shouldn't spend our money on a random product that's not going to help us in the long run.
Someone please explain to me what is making Ramon Sessions so attractive to Knick fans, because I just don't see it (besides images of Duhon clutching his back).
