Starting Line-up, 2009-2010?

So what is their starting lineup going to be, assuming they don't make any more acquisitons. What will it be if they do get Ramon Sessions? Let's assume in both of these cases they don't resign. Anyone wish to shed some light on these situations? Personally I would like them to start Douglas, Gallinari, and Chandler no matter what they do the rest of this off-season. Depending on the moves either start Toney at the 1 or 2. Jordan Hill obviously won't be a starter. Darko seems like the best option at center right now.. but I don't know... Opinions?

Duhon
Hughes
Chandler
Harrington
Lee.

Darko, Nate, Gallo, Hill, Ghostface off the bench. I do think the rotation may go 10 deep cuz of depth.

As time goes on, I think (or hope) Larry Hughes and Duhon get phased out. Nate, Ghost, Gallo and Hill get a ton of PT.

I don’t think they sign Sessions, not cuz they don’t want him but cuz he signs elsewhere for more dough.

I read that Nate is considering a 1 year 5 mill offer from the Knicks, so I really think he’s in line with the idea of winning in 2010 with the Knicks.

I dunno

It may be a little overwhelming for Ghostface to start off the bat. I’m not worried about him getting minutes though. Duhon’s back assures me of that.

First let me say I used to love Boston green …but Charlie Ward made a Knick fan of me. Though I did see Clyde platy in his day.
Charlie was a good point but really he was the best QB in NY for many years. Toney Douglas had to carry his team at times. Charlie had Sam Cassel as his backcourt mate in college. Sura one year too.

With the money they have in Curry …he HAS to take the floor and show something. I’d love to see a center iu the offense that runs though… Darko …darkhorse… man that guy…he has the tools. Can Curry defend? If he doesn’t even try …goodby.

I don’t think you see many if any lineup changes for the first few games. As Walsh tries to build some interest in the big burdens.
If they don’t produce in the first 10 games their minutes start dropping quickly and D’Antoni benches them.

Initially. I think Harrington, Chandler, Galinari, Nate and Douglas come off the bench. I don’t see Hill getting much time till after January …he breaks 10 minutes a game this year it will surprise me.

Your lineup after the all-star break I think is nothing like what starts the season. Bew York finishes strong …makes the playoffs and with some cap space is in position as intended.

Sessions….I dunno. I don’t break the bank chasing this guy. VonWafer is worth the shot…if he can play ‘team’

but anyway

sessions is a better fit if you ask me. wafer can plug a larry hughes shaped hole, and is probably cheaper, but what he brings to the table is not as integral to the team’s success. a strong, sure-handed point guard is basically the remedy to any d’antoni coached team.

i’d rather wafer than larry hughes. but that’s only because larry hughes has a penchant for taking and missing so many bad shots. wafer is the same but makes more of them. and hughes is better on defense. so i don’t even know.

sessions, on the other hand, could come in and really help put a lasting stamp on the change of culture that donnie walsh is doing. we could let duhon walk or use him in a trade. now that we have made him; he is valuable.

and yea hill ain’t getting anywhere. milicic can play. curry has to play. lee is the best player. harrington is gonna need minutes. and even jeffries is gonna be allowed to play. in the hope that he can soon be traded to someone who can use a 6’10" guy who can’t do anything at all, but can guard pg’s, sg’s and sf’s so long as none of them use brute strength.

“Duhon’s back assures me of that”

Duhon’s lifestyle assures me of that.

I would start Darko too

Lee is more of a PF who can play a little Center. I’m not sure what Harrington is, but I don;t really buy him at PF. Personally I think Darko can still play

yea

i think they have opposite strengths and weakness too. so putting them on the floor together makes sense to me. also darko is bigga

lineup

Anybody think that Chandler may get some time as SG?

by upstateknickerbocker on Jul 27, 2009 6:55 PM EDT reply actions

yea but not at start of games

but also maybe mid-way if gallinari is showing what it takes. i certainly envision a duhon/chandler/gallinari/lee/milicic starting lineup. i also see milicic and harrington as somewhat interchangeable.

also when larry hughes goes down with the inevitable injury this option reappears

idk

i guess i would see duhon hughes lee harington and darko.
but i wana see gallo wilson toney nate and lee to play together so lebron can see who hes inheriting in 2010.
isnt it interesting how in one summer were going to purge millions of dollars from our payroll to go under cap
