What is the word on Sessions?
For a while we kept hearing that the Knicks "coveted" this guy. But lately, there has been no talk of him. Is this just because we are going after Kidd right now? Is he still the fallback option if we don't get Kidd? Honestly, I (along with many of you) would much rather have Sessions. He is young, plays some defense and is rapidly improving, he even got the reputation of being a fairly clutch player amongst Bucks fans. He seems like a good all around fit

He's too good of a fit
he’s not 36 and as far as I know doesn’t beat women.
Too bad Balkman’s not around to recruit him with a Cession?
the word is
that there is no word and that we would rather concentrate on offering yet another bloated contract to someone who can’t really help us in the years to come.
i’d love to go after sessions and let duhon walk next year. but it seems like we are going for the big name. what a fuckin joke.

If they sign Kidd...
I swear Bloomberg will be happy to know not a single prostitute will be left in the city.

Razor Ramon in the Garden
Sessions is really the guy the Knicks should be after. He’s a quality PG on the cheap Milwaukee is only offering the guy 1.1 mill a year . He can score he can dish and he’s pretty fast. I dont know but Walsh is not convincing me he’s doing a good job going after the all Geriatric squad.

you're missing a crucial detail
sessions is a restricted free agent. that 1.1 offer is the qualifying offer, but milwaukee can match any offer another team makes. and the buzz is that milwaukee will match anything up to and including the MLE.
so even if the knicks like him, it makes more sense to try other avenues first. then when the well runs dry in this free agent class, make a run at sessions and see if the bucks are legit. the worst thing that happens is we get our cap space tied up for a week before the bucks re-sign sessions.

ive been sayin for a minute we should go after sessions…he put up some pretty crazy numbers but he also falls off a lot…theres gotta be more to him that us as knicks fans (and normal human beings that don’t watch the milwaukee bucks) haven’t seen
word on the street is

The draft has affected the market for him
The spate of points in the draft has sort’ve taken the bottom out of the market for Sessions, I think.
For more than year, the guy was on every fan board’s radar — his gaudy assist numbers late that first year when he came up made sure of that. Almost any team you choose had fans thinking they might collect the guy on the cheap due to Milwaukee’s cap situation and the potential tax.
It comes down to it, though, and suddenly teams like Denver have their Ty Lawsons, also on the (rookie scale) cheap, filling the spot Sessions would have taken. Ramon’s looking for a significant raise, but the demand for him just isn’t that strong — and I think that’s a bit of a mistake. He’s been around a couple of seasons, whereas rookie point guards, well… They’re not certain to produce, and the Nuggets (to stick with that example) are trying to make a run today.
Ultimately Sessions isn’t a big upgrade over the Duhons of the world — but last I checked, Chris Duhon is making $6 million this coming year, whereas Sessions is in danger of becoming a “We picked him up late in free agency and he came cheap” acquisition.
He might wind up taking the qualifying offer and trying again as an UFA next year — when the supposed glut of stars in free agency would again possibly do this to him. Fate’s weird.
