Around SBN: Full Coverage Of New York's Victory Celebration

Editor's Note: Thanks to Mase for snaggling the story while I'm at work. One year and half the mid-level (around $3 mill) seems perfectly reasonable to me.

via Celtics Blog via Sporting News via New York Post.

No specifics on the deal, it only says "a portion" of the team's MLE. The Celtics could only muster $1.9 million, which wasn't good enough.

Update: "Contrary to a published report, the Knicks have not made a formal offer to Hill, but, according to a source, Hill's agent, Lon Babby, did discuss parameters of a potential deal with Knicks president Donnie Walsh." - Seth

1 year

and a little more than that $1.9 million would be fine with me.

Id think Grant would rather go with Sheed and make the Celtics look like that Laker team that had Payton and Malone on it.

But I guess Id be down for Hill, especially if its for one year.

yeah

doesnt do any damage to the big picture and if we have to offer deals to old men this would be the way to do it, not the 3 year 18 million nonsense last week.

Dinosaurs didn't exist because Carl Everett said so. Period.

ok, i might be down

i mean i still think grant hill won’t be any good – his jumper’s eh and worse, and he’s minus the athleticism that made him fun to watch back in the day – but if we’re not giving him crazy money and it’s only a year, that makes him just like any other human being we could sign. although i’d rather we sign some fresh outta d-league cat than grant hill.

also, hey, grant, if you sign, remember that time you were on the magic and a veteran signed with the team and wanted to wear 33, the number he wore his whole career but couldn’t because of your punk ass, had to wore 6 instead, and a bunch of knicks fans cried and gnashed their teeth and shit? well, it’s retired here. karma, bitch.

he apparantly nixed a deal to the knicks

long time ago. when he was in detroit. he would not allow himself to be traded for patrick ewing. because he didn’t like how the knicks played pat out.

i think hill is a good fit.

I was really concerned

I thought he was gonna throw Hill one of those Isiah Thomas deals for the full mid but 1yr 3mil sounds like a bargain indeed. I’ll take him at that price even if he does have to let the training staff bubble wrap his whole body before checking into the game.

What did the 5 fingers say to the face?
