Amare Stoudemire (?)
The Suns are once again shopping Amare. After last nights walloping, do you think its time to make a change? Can we even pull it off with our current roster? Personally I think our biggest need is a starting PG. But I also think getting Amare however unlikely that may be would def put us in position to steal the 8th seed. Also, can he coexist with D.lee?
What do you guys think?

can he coexist with Lee?
how about he gets traded for Lee and a couple of carcasses…?
You've got to be very careful if you don't know where you are going, because you might not get there
i dont think we have the horses
to get him. I would be interested, but I dont think its going to happen.
His Defense
Is really terrible. He always seems lost on a pick and roll, which is somewhat ironic because he runs it so well on offense. You’d think that he would have thought critically about what makes it work so well and how to best defend it. I’d much rather retain cap flexibility and see what happens this summer.

Trade idea?
New York gets:
STAT
G. Hill
J. Collins
T.Griffin
Phoenix gets:
D. Lee
D. Gallinari
S. Battier
T. Mcgrady
C. Mobley
Rockets gets:
J.RICH
L.Barbosa
I have looked at worse trades
but this is right near the top of the list. For, like, you know, ALL teams involved.

i'd like to see Ama're in a Knicks uniform
I believe he would be able to work with David Lee and I think he would be awesome here. if we can get him, I’d do it. But they won’t trade for him because he has a player option for $17Mil. He can opt out this season to get a long term deal (which might be important as the Collective Margaining Agreement is about to change after next year). He has a tough decision to make. But I’d like to have him on our team. Especially over Cowboy Bosh.

Amare = A slightly better Kenyon Martin
Right down to the knee surgeries. Athletic phenoms in their early careers, played with the best PG in the league at the time, got hurt and look good but not as good as they once were, destined to be overvalued by a desperate GM. I’d say about 40% of each’s value is/was tied to Nash/Kidd. I’d stay away

i'd be down
for amare at least to get to the playoffs, but I don’t see him as a long term building block especially considering the concessions we’d have to make to afford to get him- from what I’ve read he’s fielding offers from better teams who are more likely to be WINNING teams….
His protective mask sometimes makes him look murderous though- thats a major plus!
dont do it.
i used to think amare would fit well here.. but its not what the knicks need. hes a big who plays like a SF. his defense isnt terrible overall.. but its terrible for a guy his size.
KEEP D. Lee. i would love to see him eventually get moved back to PF.
sign the guy who doesnt need to be named.(nike) and play for rubio at the point.
we need a TRUE center in NY, so imo, dont reach and grab someone who’s a “tweener”
The Amare / D'Antoni dynamic
wasn’t great….without going into detail lets just say that Amare didn’t get the kind of coaching he was looking for from Mike and Mike didn’t exactly bond with Amare.
I don’t see this happening
Now, Nash to the Knicks? If the Suns continue to suck really bad its the best blow up and start over option for all involved

also
is it a coincidence that two of the best team sites in the universe are run by guys named “Seth”?
I think, no

I would beleive that
D’Antoni hasnt struck me as a very good communicator with his players at all. It makes me wonder where this “Players coach” rep came from.
Nash…boy he has shown himself to be a great PG. I am getting a bit concerned that he is reaching his limit though. It would be such a Knicks move to pay a big price for him and have it completely and immediately blow up in our face.
It might be because I dig Ama’re, but I still want him in NY. I’ll admit bias.

Nash to the knicks is intriguing
but didn’t he take his name off of the free agent list in 2010 by signing a new, 3-year extension? I think in an interview he said he wants to finish what he started in phoenix, though the pg job in NY was exciting to think about.
Course if Amare is gone, I don’t know who’s left in phoneix from Nash’s glory days to play with. Grant Hill is great, but not immortal.

Yes, please
I would take Nash in a humminbird’s heartbeat.

Whoa!
i just checked out Bright Side of the Sun and they have a thread titled “Curry & Jefferies” I just changed my pants. That was before I even read the article!!
Unfortunately, the proposal is “meh”. It would involve us giving up Chandler, TD, and Hill + Lee, Curry, Starbucks. I mean, ANYTHING where one team is willing to take our two famous contracts is worth consideration.
Check out the post. They also have an awesome contest to enter.

As a great man once said
Meh.
Yes, Richardson is much better than Curry and Starbucks, but he has another year on his contract.
No big problem trading Hill, Chandler, and even TD (though I would miss them all, as I miss Renaldo) if we could somehow dump Curry and, to a lesser extent, Jeffries.
Lee, sadly, is most likely gone after this year anyway.
