T-Mobile Player of the Week- 1/26/10

Yikes. This is a tough one. In two games since the last player of the week post, the Knicks gave in to the superior Lakers and suffered a public emasculation of biblical proportions against the Mavericks. Though he might not have been the best performer of the week, I'm gonna pick Jordan Hill as this week's lone bright spot. The big fella is finally starting to get some minutes in Mike D'Antoni's short rotation.
In 11 minutes against the Lakers, Hill was all over the offensive glass, dropping 8 points and 7 boards, and going toe-to-toe ably with Pau Gasol.
In 14 minutes against the Mavericks, Jordan was just about the only Knick to shoot decently, scoring 6 points on 3-5 shooting.
It was a bad week for the team, but Jordan Hill finally got some burn. Hopefully, there's more to come.

your guy seems to be doing well in his limited mins; why cant he get more burn on a bad team?
"Oooohhh, cat in the wall, eh? Now you're talkin' my language."
Couple of reasons
One, D’antoni doesn’t like trusting rookies and living with their mistakes,
Two, He’s got David Lee / Al Harrington / Jeffries ahead of him and those guys have been valuable to the Knicks this season.
hmmm. that sucks. maybe you can boost his mins up to 14 though by playing jeffries a couple minutes less
and playing big al as small forward for 10 min/game? and after the deadline, if jeffries cant be moved, tell him to fill out an application at the apple store?

sounds like my man tom coughlin lol
but its true.. Ive read that Dantoni has had the speculation that his team could be losing their legs recently.. i believe thats why we are seeing a change in the rotation w/ hill appearances and some sprankling of TD.
shows that dantoni isnt as hard headed as we claim….or that he makes adjustments to his gameplanning.. either way. i like the playing time from the youngsters.
sadly enough…its time to deal jeffries along with one more to create space and to give hill more minutes.
no, he is, but thats how it goes
Some of the frustration is not that he doesn’t make adjustments, its how long he waits to make the adjustments.

Two out of three...
I certainly agree with Lee and to a lesser extent Jeffries being valuable… but I’m not sold on Harrington’s value-added on the year. I know the reasons have been chatted about on here frequently, so I’ll skip that part. ;-)
jordan hill = future kurt thomas / marcus camby hybrid. the truth
