Hi I am new, but I would like to post about the big offseason
I don't think the Knicks really have to pursue two huge players, I think they should get one big free agent and put good players around that player.
I think they should resign David Lee.
Then I think they should sign one of the following pointguards: Ray Felton, Steve Blake,Luke Ridinour, or Rafer Alston.
I think Wilson Chandler should be starting guard. I think they should get Kellena Azubukie to be sixth man. Then they should sign Maurice Evans or Willie Green to add depth.
Gallinari should be the starting forward. To back him up they should try to get Matt Barnes.
The starting power forward should be one of the big free agents. It should be either Carlos Boozer or Chris Bosh. To back them up the Knicks should sign Craig smith.
David Lee would be the starting center. Knicks sign Kurt thomas to back him up and then Jared Jeffries will also be there.
Here would in a perfect world be the rotation.
pg: Raymond Felton/Sergio Rodriguez/ Jason Williams
sg Wilson Chandler/ Azubukie/ Willie Green
sf Danillio Gallinari/ Matt Barnes/ Azubukie/ Wilson Chandler
pf Chris Bosh/ Craig Smith/ Kurt Thomas/ Azubukie
c David Lee/ Kurt Thomas/ Jared Jeffries
The Knicks could also sign Joe Johnson and boozer or Bosh and have Wilson Chandler be sixth man.

I think I remember you from GSOM, Fox.
And I think you are historically one of the most frequently crumbed on posters in history.
And you’re not-so-secretly chuck norris.

You too craze Mike Fox
"But when he saw it, he just put his hands up and they couldn’t give it to him. It just fell to the ground, I-I don’t, you know … So, that showed me he had great experience..." - Jeff Van Gundy

Yo...
you forgot Nate…they gotta keep Nate.
David Lee is not a Center. I’d rather they get an actual Center, or at least a taller dude to be a Pringles approved Center.
Chris Bosh is nothing more then a quieter, less crazy and whole lot skinnier version of Zach Randolph.
Now..is that a bad thing? Dunno…but don’t you think there’ a reason they suck in Toronto? They have Chris Bosh don’t they? And don’t they kinda play Pringles ball up there too?
Leave Bosh be.
Its either Lebron, Wade……or FUCKING DO NOTHING!!!!
Well…maybe not nothing. Sign Lee, Sign Nate..and make a smart signing.
Bosh, Joe Johnson…they really aren’t all that great and would be paid like great players…PASS!!!
..I like Ray Felton tho. He’d be a nice pickup.

I do not know you Mike Fox
so it doesn;t hurt me to say that I don’t like this team you assembled. Aside from it not including Nate Robinson, Toney Douglas or Jordan Hill…. I think the guys you want us to sign…they, uh, kinda blow.
I WILL say that ray Felton is a decent PG. i wouldn’t mind swapping Duhon with him at all. However, while I do like veteran players, Jason Williams and Kurt Thomas are past the days where they can be relied on for consistent high production. I like them both, but it’s time to wrap up White Chocolate and put Crazy Eyes to sleep. Willie Green is a one-dimensional scorer and not a very good one at that. Matt Barnes is okay, but he is becoming one of those guys who plays on a different team every year… if he was so good, why do teams keep moving him? i like Craig Smith, but we already have David Lee who does what Smith does and more. We really don’t have room for him. Kalena Azuibuike…well, with him out for the whole season, he is now an injury concern. He also is a guy who won’t be good outside of Golden State. we don’t need to sign him to a multi-year contract and overpay him…which is what will happen.
We have already covered the reasons why Chris Bosh should not wear an orange/blue uniform. Boozer is nice to have, but he is a douche and will tank our chemistry because of his douchiness.

On top of what other people said
remember that D’Antoni likes to play an 7-9 man rotation. Seems to me the Knicks might as well give 2 or 3 guys big paydays instead of spreading the wealth.

hi Mike Fox
contrary to popular belief, the Knicks probably do need TWO marquee free agents if we’re talking about competing for a championship. look at the best teams in the league right now: Lakers (Kobe, Gasol, you can even add Bynum in there), Celtics (Pierce, KG, Rondo, Allen), Magic (Howard, Lewis, Carter), Cavaliers (LeBron, Shaq) – all of those teams have two or more big ticket items.
Ewing with the step...YES! and the foul!

agreed, but...
just for the sake of discussion… could David Lee be considered that “2nd guy”?

if Nate would ever get more under control...
and well..be more like Duhon, in addition to his N8’ish stuff….yea, they’d probably be legit.
Nate’s for real…he just tries to damn hard.

At this point
I put Shaq at about the same level as DLee…
You could include Artest on that list of Lakers too…
by gbaked on Jan 6, 2010 2:26 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
no way man
lee is a better rebounder at this point. can guard players outside of the painted area. is not a liability at the free throw line, shoots a better fg% and scores a whole lot more (on top of effectively). more likely to get a steal too.
the only thing shaq is better at, is blocking shots. but let’s be honest shaq is the huge comapred to EVERYBODY IN THE LEAGUE, he’d better be good at something big guys are supposed to be good at!
not to be rude, but you’re out of your mind. no team in the nba would take shaq over david lee right now.

shaq is a better passer out of the post.
lee can play the pick and roll on either end of the floor.

are you now arguing with yourself?
aight… lee better then shaq… whatever. My point was more that shaq should not be put on that list of superstars. I would not put Lee on it yet either (YET) because he while he is playing at close to that level, he really just broke out and his D is still a big concern.

I wonder how long he had to hold his leg up in the air like that
and did the camera guy say things like “no, Patrick, a little lower”. “Ok, jus a bit longer. Ok, higher. A little bit higher. Now, slightly lower and you got it. Ok wait, someone get Mr. ewing a towel, please. Make that two towels for him, actually.”

I hate the title of this thread. because of the title alone, I decided to hate Mike Fox, regardless of hat he said.

A FEW MISSING PIECES
The Knicks need a defensive presence in the middle and and an aggressive point guard.
