"That's an unwritten rule in our league; you never lose your spot coming back from injury," Hughes said. "I feel like that's what happened." Hughes missed only three games, Dec. 17-20, but thought his minutes were then cut. "It's on paper," he said. "We can look at it."
I'm not front-paging this because Hughes is outside his mind and the Knicks just won. Even the ostensibly immature Nate Robinson kept his mouth shut when he got benched, and that was for a month.

although i do understand the frustration
with d’antoni not communicating. curry had the same issue.
nonetheless, grow up.
communicaiton generally works both ways...
He hurt his groin… which normally really effects a guy…
He looked real bad his first couple games back. I mean, was it worth bringing in an older player just coming off an injury into the game last night?
His quote above is a joke and he just went from a guy I thought might be worth bringing back to a guy that I want no part of.
F Hughes...
he’ll always be a guy who shows glipses of a player you want on the team..then when something doesn’t go his way, something like this comes out.
Larry..you’re not that good. You’re luck that Walsh and the Knicks pried your carcass from Chicago in the first place…where if I’m not mistaken, you were riding the pine with DNP-CD’s anyway.
Agree Seth..if Nate can do it..Larry, being a veteran player and someone who had this happen to him before..should know to shut his mouth.
..whatever, it was slim he’d be brought back anyway.
N8 !
I thought that was bull
He got hurt, Toney played and did well. Then when he got better, he played and Toney sat. Sounds like the definition of ‘not losing your spot because of injury’. He played like shit for a few games, then got benched.
This is kind of like when someone complains “It’s not that they broke up with me, it’s HOW they did it.”. But the truth is, it’s actually THAT they did it and you’d complain about how no matter what.
Larry just needs to have a good cry.
I'm sure
Eddy Curry and his limo driver would oblige.

All I know is...
If D’Antoni was my boss, i’d probably quit. How can you be expected to succeed when your boss won’t be straight with you.
i see where you're coming from
but the completely undeserved 13 million dollar salary probably doesn’t hurt.
Hey, people -- Larry Hughes would know the etiquette around injuries
No better authority on the subject.
