The Knicks have the rights to D-League prospect Vernon Goodridge who was drafted 5th in the D-League draft. We're talking about a lottery pick (OMGZ!) people! Ok a D-League lottery pick is not something to wet your slacks over but improving the team with new players always deserve attention. The problem is, we currently do not have an open roster spot for this particular D-League prospect.
Goodridge, 26, who flew under the radar at LaSalle University, worked out for the Knicks for several days in late June and impressed. He was the last cut of the Warriors in late October and was drafted by Springfield with the fifth pick. Knicks president Donnie Walsh told The Post recently he was indeed monitoring Goodridge's progress as he likes his leaping ability and defensive potential.
Curry still could be bought out sooner if they feel he won't be part of a trade package. In two games with Springfield, Goodridge is averaging 10 points and five rebounds in 21 minutes.

Here's a somewhat dull highlight reel of the 6'9 Forward out of LaSalle. At the end of the day, if we can't trade Curry and he'll never see the floor anyway I see no downside to cutting him for a player with possible upside.
