Barron drawing interest

Big man Earl Barron put up some solid numbers in seven games at the end of the season for the Knicks in 2009-10, averaging 11.7 points and 11 rebounds a game.

He had hoped to parlay that into a contract for this season, but he didn't sign anywhere this offseason.

However, there's a chance that could change now with the season underway.

As Alex Kennedy of HOOPSWORLD reports, Barron is drawing interest from the Phoenix Suns, Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Clippers, Toronto Raptors, New Jersey Nets and New Orleans Hornets.

The Bulls, Raptors, Clippers and Suns have less than the NBA roster maximum of 15 players, so they could add Barron without issue.

The Hornets have 15 on their roster, but their frontcourt depth is weak, making Barron a logical get for them.

I really liked him at the end of last season its ashame that he was to stupid to recognize a good opportunity. On another note how would you guys feel about us making a move for gilbert arenas he is only 28 and when he does play its at an all-star level we could probably get him on the cheap (except for his salary) and maybe squeeze a 1st round pick out of the wizards just a thought.
