As we all enjoy this streak, and the newfound tenacity and chemistry, it seems we're also all well aware we'll eventually run our captains into the ground if we don't balance out our roster... and ruin our chances for a lasting winning team, let alone the playoffs this year.
Clearly, Amare needs a sidekick to do some of his dirty work, and Raymond needs someone to come in and hold down the fort while he catches his breathe.
A lot of names have been thrown out for possible 1's and 5's... so my challenge to y'all is to come up with some trades (that aren't absurd and might actually work) where we end up with an upgrade at the backup PG and C/PF... without destroying our current roster.
Curry and Randolph for McGee and Heinrich... the money works... Washington gets big time cap relief and a young big with more "potential" than McGee... McGee is supposedly in the doghouse and might be available... and we get a more seasoned guard who can run the point and score. While this trade might kill our chances of getting Melo... I'd definitely consider it to get our center of the future and a strong guard to partner with Captain Felton. Our rotation is instantly stronger without committing too much to longterm contracts.
What do you guys have?
