So Much For Jason Williams... Telfair Anyone?
For all of whom who were willing to trade for the veteran white chocolate point guard Jason Williams your fantasies may be ruined. Over on OPP they're contemplating whether or not Williams career is over. Let's get one thing straight, I aint down with OPP because well, you know me, I'm a Knicks fan. I'm a believer that Andy Rautins could make a serviceable backup point guard but I was intrigued by Williams as well. It's a real shame though seeing that his career may be over.
"I'm not so sure that I won't be able to play ever again," Williams told the Orlando Sentinel before tipoff.
"It's not getting better, and they say it's not going to get any better. I've still got a long life to live, so we're going to see a day at a time. I don't know."
There's plenty of linkage on the article on OPP so check it out and read into if you feel like further educating yourself which is never a bad thing :)
On to the next one! RealGM Wiretap reveals...
According to a report in the New York Post, Kahn and Walsh discussed the availability of Sebastian Telfair.
Bleak quote I know but since the article is only about 2 sentences there wasn't much to quote without the threat of being sued... So you don't like Rautins, Williams may be out of the picture so does Telfair rock your socks?

That's an interesting quote
It doesn’t come across as a straight denial
"I feel like this: You can't hate me." -Toney Douglas
I would love to see Rautins get a shot at some PT
see what he can do in game situations….
Chose None But
Give Rautins the shot, who knows?? To bad we cant get Bayless from Toronto, or could we??
Dear Santa, I would like another superstar(Melo) and a new Head Coach who teaches and practices Defense and knows how to use a bench for Christmas. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!
The coaches know
They watch him every day in practice, and probably don’t like being chastised by fans because of their differences in what is “known” or “unknown”

Telfair No thank you sir!
Apart from being Marbury’s cousin, he is a lousy point guard he believes he is really an Allstar. Is not coachable and is a general waste of time.
Hmm... another copycat?

he also has been battling plantar fasciitis issues
stay away from him
Please concur or shoot down this idea once and for all:
I say it all the time, and I kinda wanna know if I’m nuts or not.
Could Gallo be a good backup as a point forward?
The PnR ball handler needs to be
a) a good shooter
b) able to make good decisions quickly
c) a good passer
For Gallo: check, check, and check.
We’d lose Gallo as the shooter on the wing on the PnR, which is huge, but we’d just play Bully there. He’s an excellent shooter, so the PnR would still work. It would help Gallo keep his head in the game, make use of is passing skills, lengthen the bench, and we wouldn’t have to trade anybody.
For a few minutes here and there, I see no reason why not.
Landry, too. Both can run a decent pick-and-roll.
it makes sense
just like it’d make sense to have Chandler or Gallo be the dude that sets the pick a bit more (or at least pass it to them when they roll a bit more instead of using them as a decoy).
Last night, a comedian died in New York. Somebody knows why. Somebody knows
My biggest concern there would be his ballhandling
Take that as you will

Don't you try to tell the Cock about his balls
Free Randolph.
Thanks a lot for the comments
Still haven’t watched the Miami game on DVR yet, but saw Seth’s characteristically amazing write-up (seriously, it’s better than the stuff from the AP, beat writers, AND other bloggers. Much better than traditional sports event coverage).
But I did see that Toney played 19 minutes with 1 assist and 9 shots, which I’m pretty sure is the definition of a shoot first point guard, and Ray got 9 minutes rest all game and played, uhm, not well. Surely Gallo, or even Andy, can do better than that. Really, really wondering why MDA does not give more time to Gallo as a point forward. Again, Hahn says Mason plays backup point in practice. Mason! Is Andy really that bad???? Ah, well……
