Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

T-Mobile Player of the Week- 2/1/10

It was another sorry week for the Knicks, as a 1-3 stretch was punctuated last night by a blowout at the hands of the dismal Minnesota Timberwolves. The team as a whole has a glaze of disinterest, but that doesn't mean there weren't some solid individual performances. In fact, our newest player of the week is the one guy who seems to do his best work with a glaze of disinterest.

Wilson Chandler didn't smile and probably didn't say much, but he had himself a very respectable week of basketball. Silent Wil averaged 18.5 points, 3.3 assists, 4.8 rebounds, and 50% shooting over four games. His dazzling ability to take off from anywhere and finish at the rim was on display, as Wil limited himself to 7 combined threes (and that's including 4 in the chuckfest last night) in favor of acrobatic flights to the basket.

Nobody could stop him. Not even Jared Jeffries.

Wil shows less emotion than Tim Duncan.

If he had any personality, he’d be everyone’s favorite player.

except he has some flash...

unlike tim duncans 20 bank shots a night. he is by far the most boring player in the nba.

duncan, though,

gets all animated and chatty with the refs when he disagrees with a call. wil hardly says a word. i like it. he’ll never be a leader, but he’s got mystique.

Yeah

Clyde and The Pearl were the same way.

Take it from an old guy.

It would be awesome to watch a staredown between Wil and The Big Fundamental

and i might be alone here, but I wish more people played like Duncan. He doesn’t miss open shots, dribble off his feet, make stupid passes, or make excuses. And i have to believe a good part of that is staying in college 4 years… Dude is hilarious off court though. Greg Oden is like that too apparently.
