Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

"I will win it. I'm telling you right now I'm going there to win."

Danilo Gallinari

Reminder: Gallo's got giant rooster balls and swagger for days. Let's hope he actually gets invited to the 3-Point Contest...

I love the cock swagger

But I really, really need to see him back it up. Every game I hope that he’ll have an 11-13 night. But I keep seeing 4-10, 5-12, et cetera. I’m starting to lose faith in the Cock and I need to have my faith restored. despair lurks perilously. Cock, rise! (pause).

I hear ya...

and sometimes think the same thing. But I keep tellin’ myself he’s only 21. I’ll take the 40% from 3, and then hopefully as he gets more used to the game and builds some strength (same we’ve been saying for J Hill), he’ll finish more around the basket bringing his overall % up and making those 4-10’s into 6-10’s, etc.

Or maybe after the last game, I’m trying to be TOO optimistic and find something… anything… to hope for?

I hope thats FGs and not 3PTs

cus you know, like, 4-10 and 5-12 would be dandy 3PT avgs… lol

Yup

That’s why Gallo’s TS% is so good.

It would help he had a point

guard who could create an uncontested shot for once in a while. Looking at you Mr. Duhon.

by DoctorK16 on Feb 1, 2010 9:02 PM EST up reply actions

This is true

Step back three pointers are not the most ideal shots to be taking, but he’s gotta shoot somehow…

Point Guard?

is that a new thing? Have we had one of those before?

His name was Clyde

Also we had another one and traded him for Charles Smith.

only if we had an allstar caliber pg

I mean we had stephon marbury, who could get to the basket at will, and kick it out to someone who could hit a 3….someone like a gallo…..jus my opinion(which is: I think dantoni’s arrogance caused the knicks a playoff berth last season, and ruined the career of a player whom could help any nba team)

i really think it has to do with the team overall

to me, it seems that lee being the go to guy really puts gallo in a different space. making him think more than just playing. i believe if him and wil were given the ball more and told to go win it for us they’d both be better

CHUUUUUUUUUUUUUCH

dude tho

gallo still reminds me of paul pierce with a meaner jump shot. i think we gave plenty to look forward to.

i see what youre saying

but pierces jabs are effective and leads him to lots of buckets. gallo looks like he doesnt know what the hell to do if he cant catch and shoot.

by enron4515 on Feb 1, 2010 6:40 PM EST up reply actions

but again

pierce has like ten years experience on my dude. its not so much what they are doing respectively as of right now. but the savvy they play with. under control looking for what they want. not settling. and ready to hit the big shots.

+1

I think with experience and perhaps a point guard and/or system designed to get him free off screens, he can have a lot more success.

by fuhry on Feb 1, 2010 8:01 PM EST up reply actions

agreed

speaking of the celtics, i hear ray allen may be interested in the big apple this offseason…

by Seth on Feb 2, 2010 2:28 PM EST reply actions

I got confused. This isn’t my fanpost. Um.

Yeah people, go over to my fanpost if you want to mention Allen but please no mention of that other guy.
