Bittersweet
Good for Nate that he won another Dunk title. I really didn't expect that, but apparently, no one else went out and took it. I'm not really a big fan of the dunk contest, but it's nice to see someone in a Knick uniform win something.
I wish we could win something other than the dunk contest. sigh.
Also, it was a little bittersweet because I have a feeling that if there is a trade at the deadline, either for McGrady and/or unloading Jeffries, Nate might be included. In any case, we may be seeing his last hurrah in a Knick uniform.
And really, I like Nate, he's a good player, but watching real games, I don't get the overwhelming feeling that he's really worth prioritizing. Honestly, when it comes to having a combo guard come off the bench, I think Toney Douglas might be a better option, just because of his defensive prowess. I don't think it makes much sense to keep Douglas and Nate - and Douglas is a better defender... and Nate is a better dunker and more colorful personality.
I'm just getting the feeling that the future here doesn't include Nate Robinson. I just don't think he's going to be an indispensable player in this league. And that's a bit sad because Nate's cool.

you're right
i actually gained a lot of respect for nate over the weekend, listening to some of his interviews, and his commentary on the rookie-soph game when he was at the table. props for his consistent positive attitude too; it’s a a shame that there isn’t a place in NY for his personality any more, but that’s just not the direction they’re moving.
agree
I think its curtains in NY for Nate…at least for now. Who knows if he’ll come back in the offseason!
If it gets rid of Jeffires…I’m all for it.
However if Nate does go and never comes back, it was real N8. His style of play is just too reckless and inconsistent
Bye, AP :(
