REALISTIC trade proposal, as well as a selfish plug.
What it is.
Recently, I started writing a blog that's probably going to focus on a bunch of shit, but one of them is going to be the Knicks. If you are like I am, you get bored during the day and run out of shit to read early and often, so if you want to read it, I'll probably update it every now and then for your entertainment, and because I'm an awesome writer and person and I need an outlet. You're welcome. It's a flimsy joint on blogspot, but I don't give a fuck because I'm a flimsy joint type of motherfucker.
(By the way, does anyone know how to link to a site in your italic signature after all your comments? Let me know.)
Anyway, on to some real shit. On the blog he mentioned (yes, that is past-tense third-person. It only gets better from here) a trade that actually makes sense. I mean, don't get me wrong, I will read about ANY trade proposal, regardless of its insanity, but none of them will happen because we overvalue everyone on the team (seems kind of contradictory, considering how masochistic we all are by nature).
So PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP and let me know what you think. My justification for the trade is on the site, and it's too long for me to feel like putting up here (pause). Comment here or on biggiantorange. K Bye!
Knicks get: Ray Allen (1 year, 18.7 M), Sergio Rodriguez (1 year, 1.5 M) and use most of the Q. Richardson's trade exception
Celtics get: Jared Jeffries (2 years, 6.4 M), Kevin Martin (4 years, 9.6 M)
Kings get: Al Harrington (1 year, 10.0 M), Jordan Hill (2 years, 2.4 M) and the 1.6 M trade exception

so basically your telling me
you not only are satisfied with not having a draft pick in 2010, but your want to give away last years draft pick too? only to recieve two expiring contracts?
smackkk yourself lol.. no really. yea ray allen would help this year with scoring.. but is scoring a little bit more and making a first round exit in the playoffs and getting more cap room worth giving up j hill?
when we could get more cap room by taking a loss by trading starbucks for nothing in return?
1: No.

Fuck the Celtics.
You've got to be very careful if you don't know where you are going, because you might not get there
I think giving a team Jared Jeffries is the embodiment of "Fuck them."

I'd rather keep Jordan Hill in a NYK uniform.
I think the Knicks got something there, and the Kings have enough talent on their roster.
It seems that most promising former Knick frontcourt players, who they got rid of, prosper elsewhere when given a chance (Ariza, Channing Frye).
That’s my point. Keep Jordan Hill.
I hate the fact I’d hate N8 with the Celtics…but we kinda know what Nate is already. He’s a knucklehead.

Thats a legit trade
Kings might say no cuz they seem to be overvaluing Martin, but they def would be interested in Hill as it looks like they’ve soured on Jason Thompson and Hawes.
Celts do that trade in a heartbeat. Martin and (surprisingly) Jefferies are exactly the kind of players they need.
Knicks get rid of Jefferies. I like Hill a lot and he shows a lot of promise, but he’s going to take a little bit of time to develop. No matter who we pursue in the off-season, they’re going to want to contend immediately, so we don’t have time to develop kids.
It ain’t easy finding trades where everyone gets what they want and it works under the cap. Props.

+1
Not sure I’d do it – you give up on Hill in order to make sure you have the space to keep Lee and still sign another max. Plus you get sergio rodgriguez and though he’s expring, you at least can try to keep him next year and get some continuity.
this makes way too much sense
which means it won’t happen.
i’m not sure which team says no. it probably hinges on the value of jordan hill, actually. either the Knicks really like him and don’t do the deal, or the Kings aren’t enticed enough by a Hill + cap relief for Martin package.
but in terms of fantasy trades, this is like a 9.7 out of 10. really well done.

well organized sir
i think that the king’s brass are both high on hawes and thompson though (coach westphal loves them, but is just working out a way to keep them on the court together without a thousand fouls). From that standpoint, dont know if they need this trade.
And I know youve heard this one, but giving up hill (who has star potential) for serg and allen? how much better are the knicks going to get in another 35 games? I’d personally not resign lee, and go for two free agents while keeping hill…if i had to pick between the two.
good...but
id hope the knicks would consider their lottery pick rookie as untouchable…

Taking a closer look at this deal now....
RealGM.com is reporting that Ainge is trying to trade Allen for Martin but that the Kings might be more interested if another team was involved.
Would they be enticed by a young, promising big like Jordan Hill, plus a bunch of cap relief? They’d also have to give up Sergio Rodgriguez. Not sure there’s enough in it for Sac, but money can be a big thing.
Knicks give up Hill, but get 1.Cap space to re-sign Lee or possibly double max guys, and 2. A young point that may be better than anything we’ve got right now.
If the Knicks could make this trade, perhaps they should
and then draft this guy.
The Knicks need a guy named Varnado.
nah, not really
more in the sense that “jarvis varnado” + “renaldo balkman” would make clyde’s head explode.
think about it though
the possibilities….
‘Marvelous move from Jarvis’
‘Varnado a tornado of activity in the paint’
They gotta draft this guy.
var-YARN-do
i can’t wait until he blocks andrayer barg-yarn-ni of the raptors. sign me up!

wonder if he is like a josh smith?
Haven’t seen him play, but apparently he leads the country in blocks (5 per!!) and hes like 6’8"!

I don't know
I haven’t seen him play. But if you have a late first round or early second round pick, it’s a solid move to pick the guy who led the NCAA in blocks if he’s available.
