Postgame: Knicks 118, Wizards 116 (OT)

Just a thread for post-game thoughts. David Lee made it happen at the very end, but this was a stinker for the ages. I'll recap tomorrow, once my eyes recover.

That was one of those games

where they should give both teams the loss. But I guess the Knicks had Lee. I’m impressed with Lee’s ability to make big shots, not so much with any of the other players. Wilson Chandler in particular seems to be unable to finish in the last few minutes of the game.

... and Gallo's been awful for what seems the last 6 weeks.

If he hit the rookie wall or is hurt, I wish he would just come out and say it.

In any event, I’m looking forward to seeing more from Bill Walker.

Is McGrady holding back Gallo’s development? Since Tracy joined the team Gallo’s shot attempts have taken a plumet and stayed there.

Maybe

Gallo seems a little demoralized on offense, but he seems to be pretty driven on D from what I’ve seen. I think that maybe he knows his arm is a problem and has lost confidence in his shooting as a result.

I also wonder if there is a problem with the guys that have been here with the way D’antoni sort of fawns over McGrady…. or maybe just the way the press fawns over him.

I see Gallo giving up shot attempts a lot… so I think it is more his own confidence on offense than anything else.

I just can't watch this team...

Im an old die-hard from the ’90s and it kills me what this team has degenerated to. They finally have some pieces that pique the interest. Then you watch the utter lack of effort and discipline on D and the turnovers (traveling violations?? really? in the NBA???), get nauseous, and are forced to turn the channel.

But at least I can peak in nowadays. During the Isaiah Era, years would go by where i’d do nothing but check the box scores.

dude

i WISH i was around for the 69-70 team. and the 72-73 obviously. as it is, i only became fixated in the early 90’s. still, we’ve all seen more than our fair share of suckitude over the years. but i’ll tell you one thing – it’s nights like tonight that bother me the most, when it’s a struggle against even against the lowest of opponents. to cleveland (hell) with lebron and whoever. we will be good again, and soon. gentlemen, as the blood flows in my arteries, it is blue; in my veins, orange.

derek harper’s nose still captivates me. pause?

Anyway, you should check out the movie "Black and White," which actually stars Allan Houston. It’s not a comedy, but rather a really serious and emotional movie. - Wilson Chandler

of course it was at all pretty

but right now….a WIN is a WIN. At least this breaks our streak!!!
We don’t have the luxury of judging our own wins…. they haven’t come frequently unfortunately. I’ll take an ugly win over a pretty loss any day.

I hear ya

but damn, the Wizards kept trying to give that thing to us and we wouldn’t take it. I really think they should have pounded the ball to Lee in the post repeatedly down the stretch.

then only thing that was annoying the hell out of me was Al harrington laughing on the sidlines during a timeout after he missed 2 free throws, it seems like he didin’t even care for a win.. despite dropping 37
