Varnado et al
It's too soon to be discussing this since Toney is going to lead the Knicks to the 8 seed and a sweep of the Cavs averaging a quadruple or maybe even quintuple double... but I noticed that Jarvis Varnado had moved up the NBAdraft.net mock draft and is now projected as the first pick of the second round by the Nets.... yuk. Maybe we can buy another late first round pick from a cheapskate team
Anyway, here's another guy that could fall to us

Or
http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Jerome-Jordan-5160/
Another in the fine (cough) tradition of Knick JJ's? Sounds like a combination of Jerome James and... Eddy Curry.
Or

Then there's this guy:

Sounds intriguing. Probably will be available. Good rebounding skills, a bit undersized, and on an awful team. Could be a sleeper.

no no no
on dexter pittman. his conditioning is ridiculously bad, he can’t even play 5 minutes at a time
On his property, Mr. Frazier has created a number of places to unwind — or as he said, "just chill."
Its hard to discuss possible draft picks this early
The NCAA tournament changes everything, along with the following deadline for guys leaving early. Then there are the draft camps. Seriously, Jarvis Varnado could end up being a lottery pick and John Wall could fuck his knee up and not even declare.
Shit, Maya Moore could decide to try and play in the NBA….
We gotta at least wait to see the Elite 8 before we even attempt to figure out who might be available. I like this Varnado kid though. But the NCAA’s career shot blocking leader doesn’t fall that far.

This is a deep draft
so going in round 2 isn’t a bad thing.
Its a shame we’ll be missing out on Evan Turner, who can flat out BALL..but I suppose its time to let bygones be that.
One name to look for is Patrick Patterson from Kentucky. Kind of undersized (Somewhere between 6-7 6-9…) but he’s a strong dude, kind of like an Oakley type except he’s pretty polished already as far as the low post.
I’d like to get him and a tall dude, Jerome Jordan is nice..there’s some others in edition to the ones you mention. There’s always a few others that pop out of nowhere in tourney time like Chris Kaman did…

You guys should check out the Nets Daily SB blog
Maybe its just one guy, but they are all about draft picks right now and laying out plans to get 3 lottery picks. One guy is talkin about Evan Turner staying at OSU because he has a serious gf on the womens team. Theres another comment that in order to land LeBron, they would need to draft at least 2 of Wall, Turner, Cousins.
Its kinda painful to read, lol. But very good for a laugh.

LOL!
I guess that somehow a top 4 pick and 25th-30 pick could end up in Wall + Turner + Cousins, by a Nets fan’s math.

any chance that if the nets get john wall, they look to dump devin harris? or that if the t wolves get wall, they look to dump jonny flynn? or even the rights to rubio? does anybody know what the deal with rubio is? (can the t wolves trade the rights to him?)
i know very little about basketball economy, so stop me if any of those ideas seem unlikely, but the idea of picking up any one of those three young, talented pgs could be pretty exciting.
just a few thoughts i’ve had, holla at your boy if you have any input.
The wolves
can trade the rights to Rubio. Rubio has a prohibitive buyout until after the 10-11 season, but they can trade the rights any time.
I would like to think the Wolves would draft a big
but if they squeeze the #1 and take Wall… I would expect them to trade Rubio quickly. I would also expect a shitton of hatemail to arrive at Kahn’s doorstep.

THe Wolves
If they get the 1st pick they take Evan Turner I think. Perfect swing man for them.
It'll be interesting to see what will happen if the Wolves get the first pick.
Drafting another young point guard would seem silly, but I think there is no question that Wall has the most potential of anyone in his class and is likely a lock for #1. I dig Turner’s game, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t think any team would have passed up on Blake Griffin no matter how many power forwards they had, and the same may be true for Wall. We’ll see…I guess I’m just trying to find a way we can still benefit from this talent-laden draft class even though we’ve got no low number picks.
Also, yeah i think the Nets are looking to move Devin Harris
I think hes very good, but sorta has an injury bug about him. He tends to miss small handfuls of games and I read before the deadline that NJ no longer considered him an untouchable or even their PG of the future. If they get a chance to draft John Wall, I’m pretty positive they would take it. If not, I bet they go for a big like Cousins or maybe a guy like Evan Turner.
I’m not sure whether the Knicks would be smart to try to get devin harris…. not sure how I feel about it. Your ideas are not far off the mark at all though

thanks for the insight brothers (sisters???)
i’ve never been a fan of injury prone players, and devin is certainly that. though his talent is undeniable, and trading for him could be a short-term way to bolster our offense. though i am optimistic as the rest of you about the possible serge/TD combo at point.
I couldnt even begin to think
who(chandler?! no!!)/what(eddy curry, picks?) we would trade to get either rubio or dharris.
i mean, is it just me or has rubio not been lighting it up this year across the water?
Toney does what the douglas do. And no one can do what he does b/c doing it without being Toney Douglas just doesnt make it do what it do
oh,
and we can’t forget who’s next in line for the first pick and who they have running their point…(gsw, steph curry)
Jimmer Fredette
Pay attention to BYU this week. He is a point guard that we should target. He is quick, got some speed, and can actually shoot 3 pointers. He’d be perfect for our offense. Watch him you won’t be disappointed.

Kawhi Leonard
He is freshman at my alma mater, San Diego State University. He is around 6-8 and very lengthy. He has giant hands. He’s very athletic. He plays the 3/4 for SDSU. He’s an automatic double double who can also defend the perimeter. His shooting numbers from 3 point and FT may not be good this year, but they are significantly better than they were earlier in the season. He’s the first guy to show up at practice and the last guy to leave the gym every day. Watch him in SDSU’s game on Thursday against Tennessee. You will be very impressed with him. Think Josh Smith with smarts of a Bruce Bowen.

He won't be in the draft this year (barring some act of god) but he most likely will enter next season
