Not the biggest news...but Will the thrill for surgery?
Here's the link
http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketball/knicks/2010/04/14/2010-04-14_knick_vs_knife.html
Although it isnt the same surgery as last season...its the same ankle. And the recovery should come early before training camp.. but i just smh at this b/c I was really interested in seeing Will next season coming off a entire summer of training, not rehabbing.
Making the fanpost limit with this sentence... welll.. ok, now i think its met the requirement.

Sucks....
I hope Wheel the Threel is a fast healer.
Better news that the article mentions, the Knicks may take a run at Tom Thibodeau if possible.
Running AMOK
I was hoping
he was named our head coach before dantoni was
Thibodeau
would be a huge signing… i mean. It makes sense, an offensive coach with a defensive assistant. Don’t know why they said DA was against that back in PHX
Toney does what the douglas do. And no one can do what he does b/c doing it without being Toney Douglas just doesnt make it do what it do
that and Shaq i think, yeah
My name's Gus Johnson; I get buckets.

No Way on Thibodeau
Mike D’Antoni is not going to accept Donnie Walsh making decisions about his assistants. That was the reason he and Kerr fell out in PHX. D’Antoni believes that if you hire him as coach then he picks his assistants, if you don’t want his assistants then you don’t want him. That is old school loyalty and I like it, eventhough I believe he needs Thibodeau. Secondly D’Antoni believes he is a complete coach bringing in a defensive assistant would be an indication that D’Antoni is one dimensional and could hurt his credibility in other coaching jobs.

point taken
but DA just like all others are human. and its possible that DA could use a defensive minded coach.
I dont see a issue with that. Pride? theres no loss in pride. Just accept that fact that your not the best at coahcing every aspect of team basketball. I dont see how DA would not accept bringing in a defensive specialist. If it makes the team better and Thib could teach aspects of defense that DA couldnt, then why the hell not?!?!
IF thats the case, then shame on u DA
Toney does what the douglas do. And no one can do what he does b/c doing it without being Toney Douglas just doesnt make it do what it do
right
but you hit it on the head. dantoni does seem to let his pride get in the way. He’s gets VERY defensive when criticized or when something is “suggested” to him.
I’m not too sure TT wants to be an assistant with the Knicks anyway. His value is high especially coming off a championship a cpl yrs ago. He’s been an assistant for what 12-15 yrs? and if Doc does retire (rumor) I think he’d be a shoo in to fill that spot.

exactly. Thib shouldnt be looking to move laterally
A lot of talk was about how Thibodeau should be a head coach. If the rumors of Ny are true then it would be a clear distraction even though i agree that Pringles and the Knicks would benefit from a more defensive minded coach. The media would jump on it as the Knicks having 2 head coaches essentially and they would spin it as pressure on D’Antoni and Walsh undermining his ability.
I also think Pringles DOES do fine with defense and that as the Knicks bring in new talent we will see a much improved defense next year. Guys will be at their natural positions, guys like Harrington wont be around either.
Thib deserves a head coaching spot, so I expect him to not come to NY, just as i think its not necessary for NY to try and get him. It really would be similar to hiring Jeff Van Gundy as an assistant to D’Antoni. Who gives the orders? Who gets the loyalty?

Good points there
I somehow forgot that “you guys are the reason players dont want to come here” (tmac) lol.. the media would for sure blow that up before the shyt even hit the fan.
And being that it has been a touchy subject of DA b/c of his history in PHX, it would spell alot of media blizz and unwanted bad vibes around the franchise when the focus right now is soley on getting better and addressing the oh10 free agency class.
On topic though. With Chandler solving this matter early, and the rise of TD and improvement of Gallo’s play. Im excited on the huge flexibility Walsh has enabled the knicks to play wit. There are so many options and from reading a article on what plans Walsh has.. he says “he has plans A,B,C,D…” already planned out. The guy has a strong hold on what he wants to do. Now the easy part is getting the guys to come here lol.
Ill just mail walsh the movie how to be a player. and he could translate that game into this summers sales-pitch
Toney does what the douglas do. And no one can do what he does b/c doing it without being Toney Douglas just doesnt make it do what it do
And another thing
I can hear D’Antoni screaming at Walsh that before he criticizes him and his staff’s ability to coach defense, how about getting him some players who can actually play NBA caliber defense and then allowing him to coach those players for an entire season.

EXACTLY!
Trade Chandler this summer for sure!
Gallo is the future according to Walsh and since Chandler isn’t a real 2 get him out of here!

i doubt chandler is going anywhere.
unless we are getting PROVEN talent back for him. he is one of the chips that are called the core of our team. and a player who will be advertised as a reason to join NY
