best knick future

I honestly believe that while lebron could return the knicks to glory, the best option for the knicks would be for lebron to sign elsewhere...so we can use that money to build a contender through a few years..

I read that the knicks would get tony parker from the spurs...sign amare/bosh/boozer....then sign joe johnson/rudy gay...this would be a great plan with a few tweaks....I think we should include david lee in the spurs deal with or without chandler...and then use curry and a 2nd round pick to try and pry richard jefferson from the spurs as well.....if im not mistaken rj and curry's contract both end following the 2011 season...rj struggled in the deliberate slow pace of the spurs...but in d'antoni's system he would thrive....his game is predicated on running up and down the floor while playing good defense....he would likely be the 6th man....but he would contribute more than eddy remaining injured on the bench....

so lets say we get tony parker and rj from the spurs.....out of the big men listed amare seems like the most likely and best option since bosh seems hellbent on teaming up with wade or lebron.....if we can convince stoudamire to take less money and make it up from endorsements to play with pringles...he would thrive with parker managing that pick and roll. i believe that memphis will probably lock up rudy gay as thier owner has repeated this fact....and given johnson's dissapointing play in the playoffs we can probably sign him for less money...let us not forget that joe johnson is a good playmaker and can spread the floor with his shooting...and pringles molded him into the player he has become....

now lets take a look at the depth chart for 2010-2011

parker/DWTDD

johnson/chandler/walker

gallo/jefferson/

stoudimire/(unnamed player)

Earl Barron/(another unnamed player)

Plus our 2 2nd round picks....

I think that since there arent a plethora of big men available in free agency or the draft where the knicks have picks...pringles will re-utilize his small ball....and with this offensive firepower i believe the knicks can challenge at the top of the eastern conference

Not only do these moves make us possible contenders....but with jefferson's contract expiring after the season...that gives us some flexibility to sign another quality player in 2011......and who knows what happens...we may even be in line for a chris paul or deron williams in 2012...

What do you guys think of this plan?
