Al Harrington in a Sign and Trade?

Hey, this is my first post and I'm a huge knicks fan. I was wondering, how come people talk about David Lee in a sign and trade and don't bring up Al Harrington at all? I believe one of these middle playoff pack teams (Dallas, Phoenix, Milwuakee, Atlanta) and even some late lotto teams (Memphis, New Orleans) could use him as a 6th man. The Knicks could still get some value for him and be able to sign 2 max level Free Agents. Do you think the Knicks could get something for Al Harrington?

i would be happy with anything that they could get for al-bob

maybe a future draft choice from someone like milwaukee or chicago would be ideal. or send him walking in memphis.

no real incentive for a team to trade for him

if you’re over the cap, you can get him for the mle. if you’re under, you can just sign him yourself. its also very likely the knicks wouldn’t want to take a contract back in a trade, making any potential s&t even trickier.

yup

basically, we would need to get a lot of value to consider a S&T for Harrington since Donnie Walsh really wants to maintain cap space. problem is, Harrington isn’t worth much on the open market and any team that wants him can just sign him outright.

How about this?

Can we sign him to a one-year deal and then trade him to a team looking to get out of a multiyear deal for an otherwise serviceable player, like Vareajao or Calderon?
