Around SBN: Newcastle Battle Injury Woes Ahead of Tottenham

Friday's Workouts: Crawford, Williams, et al.

Via Tommy Dee who was the first free agent to sign an extension with the Knicks this summer.

• Eric Boateng, C – Arizona State (24 years old)
• Jordan Crawford, G – Xavier (21)
• Sylven Landesberg, G – Virginia (20)
• Hamady N’Diaye, C – Rutgers (22)
• Deon Thompson, F – North Carolina (21)
• Latavious Williams, F – D-League (21)

Jordan Crawford may not be cool with that dude that everyone keeps talking about because of this.  But I'm more excited about Latavious Williams who's fabled to have repelled off the ceiling during the D-League Playoffs.

Why Work Them Out?

None of the above said names will be in the NBA.

yea

I bet at least 2 of them latch on somehow. Crawford most definitely.

Why?

Lets just concentrate on our Knicks rotation of ten.
Who cares about the have nots.

Would love to sign Hamady N'Diaye if he goes undrafted

He really started to come on for Rutgers towards the end of the season and knows his role on the floor (to block shots).

Also heard bad things about Landesberg.

Oh man

I can’t wait to hear Clyde try and come up with a rhyme for Latavious

Jordan Crawford is the type of swingman we need!

He can play the 2 or the 3. He can slash to the basket, he can handle the ball, and he can hit a catch and shoot or a pull up 3. Not to mention he can dunk. Trust me we will not be disappointed if we get this kid. The only thing this kid needs to improve on his his defense but he has the size and the length to be a very solid perimeter defender. Why do i look at Popivich with a arm around a player talking with 2 minutes left, and get jealous?

yeah he's got nice athleticism, but are we talking about the same guy

The Jordan Crawford I know plays for Xavier and is 6’4 maybe 6’ 5" tops. Could be a two guard for sure, but I don’t think he can get by at small forward.

Id rather have him than Wilson Chandler

Hamady

is good at what he does. I go to Rutgers, saw a lot of games, he is good on D, lots of blocks. Not polished offensively at all, but is pretty athletic; the kid plays soccer real well too so he’s got nice footwork. I wouldn’t draft him at our position but if he goes undrafted would sign him to fill out the roster since its a no-risk investment that will pay dividends on D, and you never know, with time and practice he could become a starter (got the tools for it).

His offensive numbers also aren’t great because our former coach was absolutely awful. Before Echenique transferred we had two seven-footers and not once did the coach try to run the offense through them, rather he would just have the team pass it along the wing and take a bad 3. Good thing he’s fired now.

Fred Hill Jr. a bad coach? Are you sure?

Deon Thompson will also probably get a look

or two from some NBA teams, was a big time contributor for the North Carolina team that won the National championship and he got some skills. He has just average Athleticism and at 6’8" he is smaller than most NBA scouts and GM’s like in a power forward (though he does have long arms for a guy his size) and while he has the shooting ability and ball handling skills to play small forward, he doesn’t appear to have the quickness or explosiveness that is looked for there either. While I don’t think the Knicks should draft him, I am pretty sure that somebody will take a look at him. He has got skills and a rep for playing well in big games and those things do count.
