Shannon Brown's offer from the New York Knicks is worth $4-5 million per year, according to one source.

The Lakers also have an offer on the table. An increased role plus that kind of money from New York is why this decision is tough for Brown.

By The Way

Can we even offer him that? Do we have the money to?

Why

Would we offer more than we have available in cap space? Why would we offer $5mm to a back-up SG? Does this mean Azubuike’s knees are really shot?

I hope the offer is lower than reported and only one year. It would sort of make sense from Brown’s perspective. He’s already got some rings, why not pump up his stats for a year playing for MDA in new York and then chase serious money next summer? He’ll never get as much burn in LA with Kobe in front of him, and he probably wants to gtfo of the triangle offense

Id do it

I like Shannon Brown
I like Rudy too
honestly we need a SG
if we add one of these guys imo the Knicks are really back and will make the playoffs
also it would give us a trade piece

Definitely

If we sign him his ass is gone by trade deadline probably. or we keep him and ditch chandler? I don’t know but we’d have options. Maybe even trading him and some other folk with him to the Nuggets for Carmelo. There are a lot of possibilities.

as of right now

i’m more interested in brown than rudy. rudy costs us players, picks, and then some. brown, whether he signs or not, is strictly an addition, and could prove to be real valuable if he finds a niche here.

I think thats why we're going after Brown like this.

If we really are going after him for that amount of money then it shows we don’t want Rudy but they might think we need him. Now since we can just add Brown Rudy takes a back seat. Who knows what Donnie is thinking. I know one thing, he’s been thinking for the future ever since he came here and he isn’t gonna stop now.

I like it

He’d give us some even more incredible dunks and some transition blocks and whenever I’d watch the Lakers (and rooting against them real hard) he’d knock down the open 3, so that fills one of our needs. Chandler for Rudy is garbage. We’ll lose probably our best slasher, one of our strongest players and best defenders for a great shooter and decent playmaker who plays no D. Sign Brown and forget about Rudy. I don’t want guy who whines about playing time anyway

Wow is that ever overpaying. Are the Knicks repeating thei bad habits from the past.

He is never gonna be anything more than a 8th-10th man off the bench. 2yrs. for $3M total slightly above the minimum is his value. $4-5M per? Are they nuts???

no..they're not

cuz they don’t have that much under the cap to make it happen anyway.
