Side note: David Lee's a center, I guess? -Seth

" until he realizes that he's probably the best pure paint scorer this league has, and that he can drop 25 with or without the expertly placed pass."

Also, Zach Randolph at nine.

And he got Duncan ahead of him

and Duncan is either declining or not playing PF..or both.

Pau and Duncan are 1 & 2

Because of their nice jewelry collections. I’d put Amar’e, Dirk and Bosh ahead of both of them right now.

I think it’s odd that Kelly Dwyer thinks David Lee is really a center.

In Nellie's system, Lee's a classic center.

He may actually be the heftiest guy on that Golden State roster.

Can't wait for the dunkfests against the Warriors

Lee is going to get punkd extra hard for the years of pussiness he displayed in guarding the lane!

Too soon to hate on him?

seriously

and just as a basketball fan I’m looking forward to the endless pick and rolls GSW will run with Curry and Lee (what could have been…)

ehh

im not that sad…. put lee in place of amare on this roster.

Not the same picture huh? : /

but to Knickwiz- No reason to hate on david lee, the guy wasnt good on defense, but left it all on the court every night, and was a standup class act for the team through its worst years in franchise history.

seriously?

dlee was the man

LET'S GO RANGERS!!!

He won us over because he, unlike Z-Bo and Curry, hustled

but he showed an unwillingness to give a consistent defensive effort – at best, the last two years were love/hate.

I did not want him back. I loved that we were able to S&T him. He was good for us, but players like him are never key cogs on great teams. Amare, different story.

We can look wistfully at GS’ Curry+Lee P&R, until we realize that a team centered around those two will never win more than 45 games.

by The Rooster on Aug 26, 2010 2:37 AM EDT up reply actions

Stephen Curry is one baaaaaaaaaaad man...

I’d take any team centered around a rookie who averaged 21 and 7 for two months straight…

Get some defensive pieces around those two in the next couple of years and they could easily win 50-60 games.

A new coach would be nice too

Then maybe Ellis could become a good player who produces good results. Add a healthy Biedrins to the mix, and like you said, a few good defenders and shooters, and thats a playoff team

Way too soon to hate

D-Lee was the fuckin man. I can’t wait for him to play back at the Garden so he can get a big applause. I’ll probably give him a standing-O in my own living room

by WSD on Aug 26, 2010 9:34 AM EDT up reply actions

Seriously, let's all wish Lee the best

He’s not perfect, but he put in work every night without complaint (despite playing out of position) when the Knicks were hot garbage. How many other players from those years could you call overachievers?

Anyway, GSW plays in the Garden pretty early on in the season. I too hope he gets a standing ovation when the starting lineups are called.

(And then I hope Anthony Randolph drops 25 and 15 on him).

by flossy on Aug 26, 2010 9:46 AM EDT up reply actions

I can't wish anything bad on David Lee

Probably my second favorite Knick of the losing years after Jamal Crawford. But when JC returned to the Garden I was hoping the Warriors would win that game, sort of like revenge on the Knicks for that trade. With Lee, he got a huge payday and could’ve not approved a deal to GSW, so I hope he gets his applause and plays well but I hope the Knicks win

Gasol/Duncan

Well Amare needs to win one to get the nod over the Gasol/Duncan based on their age. As for D.Lee leave this clown alone out in G.S land because we are done with him. In prime Duncan is #1 and Amare has a chance to past both if we win baby. Stay tune to the Amare show.

He's been doing that with different players.

yeah, nice quote

he really is the best paint scorer in the NBA. Not enough recognition for that, IMO.

even if the league is weak with paint scorers right now.

by BJabs on Aug 26, 2010 12:36 AM EDT reply actions

he kind of contradicts himself in the descriptions

saying a few guys are the best at their position. Even tho they all play the same position.

But hey, I dont take the time to write that up, so thanks for givin me something to read guy.

Oh yea, David lee should be up their, but I guess since he put his best season in as a 5 than he belongs in the centers countdown. That actually might help his rankings too..

I still don't like Kelly Dwyer or his lists

But this was the only Knicks ranking thus far that didn’t involve negative criticism. So that’s a plus.
