barron and crawford.

we sign patrick ewing jr over barron? does anyone else thinks this is ridiculous? barron played great fro us last year. we found him in the d league gave him a chance and he played well. why the hell did we turn our back on him and sign this 26 year old rookie? yes he is a rookie, he hasn't played a game in the nba ever and hsn't played all last year due to an injury. we better cut someone and sign barron or i will not be a happy camper.

next... jamal crawford is gonna demand a trade pretty soon since the hawks are snail pacing him when it comes to an extension. crawford asked for an extension early july and the hawks have ignored him. now he wants out. reunion anyone? trade chandler rautins for him, if that fails throw in douglas. we should get that done donnie. discuss.

Ok here it goes.

I’ll copy and paste something I said about us not signing Barron in a different post from last night.

For the last time!!!
EARL BARRON WANTS DOLLARS! He wants more then the vet minimum. There’s a reason why he isn’t signed, he was in the same boat as Shaq, wanting more then people were willing to pay. Problem for Barron is, is that his name isn’t Shaq. Its "Who?" So not signing Barron was a smart move. Jesus Christ, enough with the Barron talks.

This should end that.

And as for Crawford… I take this time to apologize on the behalf of the fellow posters here for whatever beating they give you. I’m dearly sorry.

only if jamal comes for 3 years on the vets minimun

otherwise he shouldnt be anywhere near the garden. guy is a pure volume scorer with atrocious D, exactly the kind of player we don’t want around here no more.

by ChiaCrack on Aug 28, 2010 2:22 PM EDT up reply actions

since Melo is gonna be a Knick

might as well bring his boy with him too
I worry if JR and Chandler would fight over who has the gayer tattoo

by ChiaCrack on Aug 28, 2010 2:25 PM EDT up reply actions

this one is more fitting

looks like pringles doesn’t like the idea of Crawford either

If you're a real Yankee fan, please do the rest of us a favor and splurge the extra cash on a replica jersey without a last name on the back. Frankly, it's embarassing.

team powercat

team powercat……..Barron wants dollars
Ewing Jr will be hungry and come cheap
its a win win

Crawford?

he wants to be traded cuz he wants a contract extension. Fuck. That.

by FreeBradshaw on Aug 28, 2010 2:42 PM EDT reply actions

Yeah

The guy’s 30, and though he’s a decent player and I like him, giving a contract extension like that is what makes teams start to suck. Awful cap move. Crawford’s moving into a stage in his career where he’s going to either play cheap or play for a team with a crappy GM on the way down. I think his contract extension demand is a stupid move for him.

by fuhry on Aug 29, 2010 7:56 AM EDT up reply actions

its actually a good move for him

last year was one of his best seasons. And it may be his last shot at cashing. Not a greedy move but a financial/retirement move. U said it, he’s 30..so this is his last shot at making the chk that will send his grandkids kids to college. You never know.

but atl is a good team to try this on… lol.

and speaking of money

Barron WANTS MONEY!

The Knicks DON"T HAVE MONEY to give him! THat’s why they signed Ewing Jr, cuz he cost nothing.

by FreeBradshaw on Aug 28, 2010 2:45 PM EDT reply actions

HEY

We should get JR Smith and Crawford!! lets trade Curry for Crawford, that would be a steal. THen with the cap space from curry contract we can give Crawford the money he wants!

the amount of bad 3 pointers put up by those two would be incredible

then add gallo, TD, and Walker to the mix. chuckfest

JR and Crawford?

I’d take one, mixing in those two is a recipe for destruction. They would be on the court at the same time chucking. One of them can come off the bench and run with the two’s. Preferably Crawford. Trade Curry’s 11M expiring for Crawford’s 10M expiring? Not so bad. If Crawford plays good we keep him and sign him to something cheaper, if not with lose 1M for experimenting and let him come off the books.

Not to mention

We seem to have a bunch of good character guys right now. I don’t like throwing JR Smith into the mix.

by fuhry on Aug 29, 2010 7:58 AM EDT up reply actions

I was being sarcastic wit the post
trade chandler rautins for him, if that fails throw in douglas. we should get that done donnie. discuss.

this made me do it.
I would never trade those 3 for crawford right now. And never would give crawford the $ he wants.
And JR smith ..heelll no. go THAT way

Maxcat what is a matter with you?

Crawford?

The only reason Crawford would be traded is to a team that is willing to give him an extension.

The Knicks 100% are not giving him an extension, hence we aren’t trading for him…

Also Barron only played 6 games for us when the season didn't matter anymore... stats can be easily inflated like they were

Donnie made the choice already:

Earl Barron or Russian guy at 3 million per year?

Russian guy it is…

Welcome to Plan Z

We spend years sucking to clear cap space in order to bring back… Jamal Crawford.

by flossy on Aug 28, 2010 4:52 PM EDT reply actions

not signing Barron is exhibit A

of what separates the Donnie Walsh way of doing things from the Isiah Thomas way of doing things. Big Earl thought he could pull a Jerome James or Jared Jeffries with the Knicks. Sorry chief. Welcome aboard Pat, glad to have ya.

hellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll noooooooooooooooo on Crawford. I love how everyone is dismissing our backcourt assets before the season even starts.

eff waiting for the season.

Bring in allen iverson..and trade for Crawford. Lets throw in chandler, rautins, and toney douglas. Maybe even a 2nd rounder..whatever it takes!

I love this stuff

Barron wants more money than we can give him. Most likely he will be headed for europe. Crawford, no thank you. He is a volume shooter who is a poor defender and turnover prone. But then do not take my word for it, just look at clips from his Knick days. But then again I am biased, I have never liked Jamal Crawford’s game, oh sure he will have nights where he goes for 40, but too infrequently to justify the amount of chucking he does. Atlanta is perfect for him. They are looking for him to do one thing, shoot, and when he isn’t doing that they get him off the floor. He is a great scorer off the bench but not worth what he would want money wise to bring back here.
