Who's telling who what?

I'm not technologically advanced enough to properly link things, but I read a little blurb today in Steve Adamek's piece about the Knicks heading over to Europe. He pointed out something that nobody else has.

Adamek highlighted the fact that Eddy Curry and Azubuike are both hobbled right now, but Azubuike is still making the trip. Eddy is not.

???

Hmmm...

This is NOT... I repeat this is NOT a post meant to attract recycled insults and cheap fat jokes about Eddy Curry. While some of us pity him, and others of us want him to get hit by a bus, it's pretty clear that nobody holds really positive or hopeful feelings about him. That's a dead horse.

The question I'm asking is, who is telling who to "stay away?" Obviously Eddy could still physically make the trip. For all we know, Eddy may be closer to 100% than Azubuike. Yet Azubuike is going. Therefore:

Are the Knicks telling Eddy to stay away because they don't want him in the Kum Buy Ah picture over there in Europe. Or is Eddy telling the Knicks, "I already know I'm not in the plans, so I'm not wasting a week of time overseas pretending to smile and fit in with everyone."

Either way, the answer doesn't sound good for Eddy.
