NY Times article on Timofey Mozgov
Pete Thamel's piece on Timofey Mozgov provides some insight into how Timofey got to where he is now (he's a "maverick"!), and also how Knicks scouts feel about him.

Hopefully Russia can beat France now,
because I really want to see Timofey matching up with NBA players. Should be a good time.

I'm not saying they will beat France, I just want them to.
The World Championships are fun, but it would be icing on top of the cake to see our new big man prospect banging against NBA centers for the first time. A good chance to evaluate how well his skills will translate.

Kevin Love, Lamar Odom, Tyson Chandler.
Those are the big men he’ll be most likely matched up against. He has to be able to play well against these guys. These are middle of the pact guys, if he can have his way against them I see good things for Ol’ Mozzie.

These three are better than most of the guys Timmy will be matching up with when he gets his minutes.
I’m curious to see how his rebounding looks. He hasn’t been grabbing many in the FIBAs, but apparently he boxes out like a motherfucker.

I hope he kicks our American butts
I am now rooting for Russia. As a Knick fan it feels more natural rooting for the underdogs.
I may be stupid but I am not an idiot,
Really, he's a small forward.
Played at the 4 for D’Antoni alot in Phoenix, though.

Can't wait to see him, Randolph, Chan, Manson and Douglas on the break
I think there’s too much talent for Pringles to not go to a true 2nd unit.
2nd unit
you got that right-2nd unit is a must. But is Randolph on the 1st or 2nd unit?
I'd say 2nd, I dunno where he fits on the 1st
unless they’re gonna start him at C, which if he’s really 230lbs and bulked up, I can see eventually.
if we switch all defensive assignments
like we did last year, i see randolph in the starting 5.

new zealand not france
apparently, the nyt needs some help.
russia plays new zealand.
france is in the other part of the draw and plays turkey.
Pretty much sums up my thoughts on his game
I doubt he’ll play big minutes but if he can give us 10-15 meaningful minutes per game than I’ll be happy
Some love from TSN
Seems he’s getting some attention from other people than on this board too. I guess he does expect to play and almost makes it sound like that’s what he’s been told.
Tomorrow should be interesting for sure… I’m guessin’ he’ll be eager to prove himself.
