That is somebody that I respect a lot. His work ethic is phenomenal. He is somebody who the last few weeks I have really watched and learned to appreciate because he might have had a bit of a rough beginning in terms of playing time as a rookie, but you can see he really stepped in and produced when the team needed him. That’s pretty awesome. I can’t wait to see him be a player that people might not see as a star, but he will prove people wrong.
Ronny Turiaf on Toney Douglas.
I am very, very, very ready to watch some basketball.

Also, you left out the most important part:
NYKnicks.com: What do you think of New York City itself?
Turiaf: It’s pretty cool! There is always something going on. I was talking to Anthony Randolph the other day about the fact that people are so lively here. You drive down the street and see people living and loving life, having barbeques and always up to something, and that is something I have never really seen. This is not the same thing on the West Coast. So I can’t wait until I randomly just show up at somebody’s barbeque and just try to crash it! (laughs)
That’s it, I’m grilling this weekend. I just need an extra rack of ribs or two and some sort of Ronny Turiaf bat-signal.
i like these two quotes
Wilson just said it on the Q & A you had up on the site last week and kept stressing how he wanted to win.
so he is reading the interwebs? Hi Ronnie!!!
NYKnicks.com: Finally, we always end by asking if you had one thing to tell the fans what to expect this year, what is it you want to tell them?
Turiaf: Greatness. Get ready for greatness
I am ready for real basketball… like… now.
I am a fan of both the mets and knicks... so just kill me now.
I like TD too. every chance he got to play major minutes he produced in a major way. I will never understand who decides which rookies get to play through the mistakes and growing pains and which ones don’t. TD was a first round pick who showed he can fill it up when called upon. should have played 30 + mins a game last year after Duhon turned into a complete stiff. what the hell did we have to lose?
Well Turiaf!
Just focus on keeping people out of the paint along with averaging 10 boards. With these acomplishments we will have a solid year. “Go Turiaf” “Go Knicks”
the lakers are such dummies
they sold this pick for peanuts. (3 million peanuts)
wouldn’t TD make for a great back up pg in the triangle ?
that is so true
I’ve said this before – Toney would have been terrific for them. They were very money concious after they spent more than they wanted to to keep Odom.
Didn’t hurt them last year, though, did it?
And blake might fit better
Dammit!!

Anyone thinking what I'm thinking?
NYKnicks.com: Tell us about your beard. Fans seem to really enjoy talking to you about it.
Turiaf: Every summer, I let my beard grow when I travel. This is a yearly thing that I do and for some reason people have caught into it. People want to do T-Shirts and have fun with it, and I am all about that. This is my way of letting people know that this is who I am. I like to have fun. I like to interact with my fans. That is why I love Twitter so much. But it is important for people to know this is who I really am. So whatever you want to do, let’s have fun with it man! I am all about having fun with the fans.
R u thinking what im thinking??

Turiaf is right about the east coast....
The party vibe is very different than the west coast. East coast is more old-fashoined, neighborhood oriented, and just plain the way things used to be. Everybody celebrates and chills together. The west coast is so decentralized, plastic, image conscious, etc. Its completely different. Thats a part of NEW York Living that people just don’t understand. You have to experience it. Wait ‘till thanksgiving and Christmas Ronnie, it gets better!
Also, I am dying for the season to start. Is Mozgov gonna get any time at center? Can Randolph shoot a 10-15 footer? I still cant figure out who’s gonna spend the most minutes where. Even if Stat doesnt play center, he will still need to defend the opposing PF. Can he do that? Is Randolph too thin to defend at center? ahhhhh, who’s playing where???
"Control the clock, dont keep making the same dumb mistakes, and dont turn over the rock because you cant win without the rock."
The ONLY thing Turiaf needs to do this year is average 10 rpg...
anything else (1.5 blocks + 8 ppg) is pure gravy =)
Don't hold your breath.
He’s never averaged 10 per 40 in his career, and he’s most definitely not getting 40 minutes a game.
I’d take good defense and a 2:1 foul-to-block ratio.
His biggest asset is his attitude, in my opinion too.
Rony may not get 40. . . .
mins a game. but he sure better get 30-35 EVERY night. or I want D’antoni outta here. he can run his 5 secs or less O all he wants, but we won’t go anywhere if we don’t get some toughness. Turiaf is tough and physical. Knicks Goal 1: try to keep opposing teams from averaging 110 a game. lets try that!

I like Turiaf and all...
But he has never averaged more than 21 mpg, ever. If he is getting 35 mpg we are royally screwed (and so is he, quite likely—I doubt his knees can take that kind of burn).
i dont think turiaf can last 30 minutes a night.
hes never done it before.
fouls and fatigue add up.
Turiaf is not a great rebounder tho
if you must look at the per 36, he doesn’t even average 8 boards a game over his career. Of course, per 36’s are stupid, so if Turiaf was actually getting 36 minutes maybe he does more. Maybe he does less? Who knows?
But I wouldn’t expect him to get more then his 5ppg and 4rbg averages. And as long as he defends the C spot well, who cares there’s a lot of other penises to put in through the hole.
Turiaf is clearly impressed at what Toney Douglas do.
Seems Toney Douglas is the only dude no one’s talking about. Oh..what’s Gallo good do. AR’s ejaculating with potential. What’s Mozgod doing in the internatties. What dod we do with Wilson Chandler? Amare just impregnated an oak tree, I will now praise it. Who’s gonna start at 2-guard.
…all this time, Toney Douglas is doing what Toney Douglas do. Watch your fuckin brow piglets.
True
No one seems to be talking at all about Toney. Is it possible that DWTDD starts for us at the 2? Sure. Is it likely? Probably not, but I can’t say I’d mind seeing it in action to at least see how it worked.
He may be undersized for a starting 2, but think of the ball pressure we’d be able to apply on defense. And with he and Felton, we’d definitely be even more up-tempo. Then you can sub out Toney first and keep Felton in, then sub Toney back in for Felton so that at least one of them is on the floor manning the point at all times or they’re playing together causing havoc.
As excited as I am about the season, I think I’m most curious on how the rotations will fall.
A lineup of
Felton
DWTDD
Gallo or Chandler
RAAAAAAANDY
STAT
is a crazy lineup.
I am a fan of both the mets and knicks... so just kill me now.
For a guy (me) who's always seen DWTDD as a 2
That lineup would make me cream myself.
My name's Gus Johnson; I get buckets.
I think I prefer Toney off the bench
I see him playing a Goran Dragic type role and I’m just super psyched about him coming in and being one of those players the opponents and fans are like “ugh get him out of here already”
I actually have though alot about Toney, and I’m really pumped to watch him. DWTDD, Ray Felton, Chandler, Gallo, Amare and AR are the guys I’m most excited to see

guys im most excited to see play
in this order:
felton
gallo
stat (this low b/c i already know what he can bring)
randolph
"they try to do what he do, and been where he's been, but they get folded in two.....he's the dude"
Felton: a backup
Go Rockets/Nets[CDR]/Bucks[Jennings]!
[I only say this because DWTDD should obviously be starting]
Go Rockets/Nets[CDR]/Bucks[Jennings]!
doesn't make any sense.
Obviously, TD is more of a scorer and Felton’s more of a distributor.
Pringles wants a distributor at PG. If this was the ROckets who don’t mind a score first PG, then yea..TD would work as the starter.
Not here….obviously.
