Just want to stir the pot. I've waited ten years. Ten years being taunted for being a knicks fan, ten years watching our boys be a joke. this year we're middling in the East because well, someone has to make the playoffs. If I've waited this long for us to be good, I can surely wait another off season for us to get a quality big. I'm not concerned with beating the Atlanta Hawks and Indiana Pacers of the NBA, but the big boys. The only way we do that is with a solid big. He doesn't need to be an offensive machine, just someone who can guard the 5's so Amare can guard the 4s.
Ronny did an excellent job using his smarts against Lamarcus tonight but when you strive for perfection, strive for something wonderful, you have to keep the target in mind. It's not a "return to prominence" - that's already happened. To win a title we need to stop with the Melo loving (at least until the off season).
Gasol seems to be a longshot to come here given the statements out of memphis. I say we do some due diligence on the following bigs
Kendrick Perkins - UFA with a bangers mentality - is he healthy?
Nene - does he exercise his ETO for some free market uncertainty?
Tyson Chandler - can the lure of NY get him out of Dallas. Cuban won't let that happen.
or - perhaps we keep Amare at the 5 and get a monster 4
David West - he's got an ETO - maybe we can get him, but that makes the defense porous although it would make either gallo/wil chan a monster force off the bench.
im liking what i'm seeing from wil chan - maybe gallo comes off the bench in this fantasy scenario to be our deadly gunner and instant offense. i say we forget the melo chatter and not make a deal just to bring back "flash" to the garden. it's already there. time to win a title.
got all my info from here
in closing - F the superfriends down in miami and the ******* in Boston.
