Iman Shumpert is as excited as we are.

I was looking forward to this! Iman Shumpert's "Lockout Diary" for the Post was a pleasant diversion throughout the many months without basketball. One could always detect restlessness and longing in his posts, though, and upon hearing of basketball's imminent return, I couldn't wait to read his reaction. It's up now, and he's every bit as elated as we are:

THE news of the labor agreement brought tears to my eyes. I was sitting up watching TV at 3 a.m. Saturday in a recording studio in Atlanta.

The move to New York is all I can think about. I woke up the next morning and had one of the best workouts ever. I was hyperventilating, I was so excited the lockout was over. In fact, I had to take a break between each drill.

I'm hyperventilating, too, Iman! And I had only my 408th best workout ever this morning! And that was just eating almonds in the bathtub! I highly recommend reading Shump's post as an uplifting way to start your day. There's plenty more to see, including this intriguing bit:

I’ve already spoken to a few guys and everyone’s geared up. The best text came from Chauncey Billups. I won’t reveal what he said, but it was motivation enough for my whole career!

What could that text possibly have been? Some guesses...

Another quality post by Se...holy shit look at those texts.

I haven’t wanted to Internet high-five someone this badly since the last time I saw some crayon drawrings.

We need an evil pirate in our free agent meetings.

I’m pretty sure Amar’e can do it since he looks a bit like Jafar.

There is no other candidate for evil pirate on this team other than Safari.

I had to try really hard not to laugh and look like an idiot to my roommates.

Having Chauncey mention something about Shump’s whole career every time (except the last one) was hilarious.

Well...

I started laughing in class while reading this. Its just like the old pre-lockout days when Posting and Toasting would regularly get me in trouble in class. So happy basketball is back!

good shit dude

you make me laugh.

I think it was Bobby V who said: "You are never as good as you are when you are at your best, and you are not as bad as when you are at your worst."

Like the really funny uncle with a healthy bourbon habit who matches every brilliant Thanksgiving story with one or two ill-advised racist jokes or boob grabs, we’re stuck with Melo. So we might as well learn to love him — quirks and all. http://knickerblogger.net/2011-report-card-carmelo-anthony/

Well done, Seth!

Seriously can’t wait to see Iman this season. And I’m very excited for Landry and Shump Shump to go at it in training camp cause I think they will be

I'm actually surprisingly unelated about the end of the lockout.

This article sums it up quite well. I’m sure as soon as the first game starts I’ll be in full B-Ball mode though.

By the way Seth

Since the season will be getting underway hopefully in a week and a half, is there any word on whether we’ll get a “The Association” season for the Knicks?

Seth, you know i love you like i love pineapple salsa (and blackhova loves him some pineapple salsa)

but if those are texts from chauncey to shump then shumps name shouldve been at the top OR those texts shouldve been on the left in white… but those are minor and i overlooked those. what are we talking about again?

XD

Awesome post, I can’t wait to see iman’s athleticism in MDA’s system and some had him rated the best defender in the draft which is greatly needed. If he can add a consistent poop to his game he will be a real weapon.

Chauncey is awfully nonchalant about all of this

You’d think a bouncy castle would elicit more of a reaction
