Forgot to mention in the recap below that Amar'e Stoudemire gave out medals after practice (obviously). We didn't get to see them during the MSG show, but Landry Fields twat a photo of his.

I was wondering who else say Hahn's recent twat

I’d LOVE to get Outlol here. Couldn’t care less that he was terrible with the NEts, they expected him to be a starter and really handle a lot of their secondary scoring.

With us he’s a backup 3/4. He’s not a 3pt shooter yet, but the Pringles school of shot will help that. And just the fact he failed with Jersey will make it that much sweeter. I wanted the Knicks to get him last year dammit but not for those papes

and I always remember him being a pretty decent 3 pt shooter in Portland and without the pressure of the contract he should be able to relax and play his game.

It would be cool if we got Outlaw

I think he’s probably pretty good, just not worth the contract they gave him. They had to amnesty him and signe Shawne to a more reasonable contract. But that doesn’t mean Shawne is a better player than him.

I’d be surprised if no one claimed Outlaw, though.

One thing I'll say about this group

Is that they like to have fun. Not as in goofing-off, fun, hard working, but they like to keep it loose and I think that is pretty much top to bottom.

It was hard to put my finger on it, but I think Chauncey is more of a serious dude – that’s the culture they built in Detroit. I could see that having a negative effect on Landry.

Get The Frickin' Rebound

by fuhry on Dec 16, 2011 10:56 PM EST reply actions

I actually had an extremely similar thought!

I was watching the practice and everyone seemed to be having fun. Working hard with smiles on their faces. Even their quotes. How strongly Melo defended DWTDD. They really seem to be clicking and in a fun place together.

And as I watched, I thought about why it wasn’t this way last year and I thought there’s no way Chauncey would be having this much fun. Bibby may be half dead, but at least he’s smiling and having a good time.

I don’t think we can blame Landry on him. I think Landry was a combination of the rookie wall (he was declining even before the trade) and the fact that afterwards we weren’t really a team. We just sort of threw guys out there to do what they do. A team reinvented on the fly. No real culture or roles. He got lost. This year, we have a real culture, which gives me hope for our chemistry. I don’t completely blame Chauncey, but I don’t think he helped matters. I think he was the most serious and everyone deferred to him too much because he was the most veteran player and he has a ring.

But this is so good to hear. Chemistry is so underrated as is having fun and playing with dudes that you respect. Can’t wait for the season. Hope Baron joins the team as I really think he would thrive in this environment. He also might be the best alley oop passerin the league and that could be fuwith our front line!!!

by robk on Dec 16, 2011 11:47 PM EST up reply actions

Compared to Chauncey’s 3-point shooting, Baron Davis is complete garbage:

Seasons of 3 point shooting over 38%:
- Chauncey = 10
- Baron = 0

And yes he is a BAD 3-point shooter, over the last 3 years he has a 30% average (a terrible clip)… You need at least 33% to be even passable as a 3 point shooter.
