Knickerblogger takes the skeptical view of Davis signing
Personally, I think the Francis/McGrady/Hardaway stuff is irrelevant, and I'm not sure how much weight to put on Baron's shot-taking in the past. First of all, he's never played with a group like this before. Second of all, TD isn't exactly a pass first PG either, so I don't see how Davis taking shots puts us in a worse position. He takes 15 shots per 36 minutes for his career, but he's spent most of his career as a primary or secondary scorer. I highly doubt he's going into this expecting to be anything above the third option on offense. Last year for the Clippers he played about 30 minutes and took about 12 shots per game. I'd expect something around 11 shots in 30 minutes per game from him this year, which I think is fine.

Yeah, Baron took shots when he was the primary option, but he's always been more than happy to distribute
Baron Davis could help the New York Knicks, but he’s not likely to return to his 2004 self. His path to success is to become more of a role player which would minimize his inefficient scoring.
Well, yeah, that seems to be the mutual goal here.

He seems like he has a positive attitude
And he’s gone out of his way to praise the coach, so I think he’ll be a good boy and not blatantly chuck
Anxiously awaiting the day my username will be appropriate
